my buddy has a 1995 ford f350 and he is having very long crank times anytime he starts his truck. Even if we started it, let it run then shut it off after a couple of minutes if we tried to restart it it would still take a long crank time for it to start. While cranking there is no smoke out the...
If the oil was very burned or turning brown i would recommend flushing it. If it was just starting to burn and is still red, I would just drain the pan and change the filter.
No there is no boost reference on the db2 pumps unless you get an aftermarket top cap. The factory turbo models (from what i understand) have a torque screw which defuels at low rpm to simulate a boost reference but isn't always accurate.
Promar engines definitely sells reman engines and seems to have a good reputation.

R&D IDI also does custom engines as well and has a very good reputation in the...
The factory temp gauge is wildly unreliable and inaccurate. The best solution is to buy an aftermarket temp (and oil pressure gauge, its equally unreliable) and install it. I've heard that around 230-240 or so is absolute max you want to see your temps to get.
People seem to use the holley series (red, blue and black) the carters were a very good option however I've heard the new ones are having reliability issues where the quality is hit or miss. I personally am using the holley black pump because im running a bigger pump. The blue and black flow...
I would not recommend the facet pump. Many people on this forum have found they do not supply enough fuel for these engines and some have found the screen bowl invites air intrusion issues. There are several threads talking about this as well.
I can't say much for the differences between the 6.9 and 7.3 caps, with the routing I am going from the passenger bank of injectors to the ip to the driver bank then back to the tanks on the back of the driver bank. I am using the r&d rails, they are difficult to install without cutting an oring...
With the glowplug story, the cheaper plugs tend to swell at the tip so when you replace them you want to use motorcraft or beru only. With the injector splitting in half, it likely just unthreaded the top and bottom halves. If you might be able to start threading the two halves back together and...
Champion 4 core radiator is a popular option if your radiator is bad, when you replaced the thermostat did you use an aftermarket one or a motorcraft one? The aftermarket thermostats do not work well with these engines.
They are a flare fitting similar to the brake lines just bigger. There is no oring there only metal to metal. If it leaks, you can apply a thin coat of silicone or other sealant on the flare after through cleaning and it can help.
Is the us, a cetane value of 40 is the minimum, 45 is the average value that engine manufacturers recommend. The higher the cetane value, the faster the diesel burns which helps the engine become more efficient.
