It's hard to tell by looking. They don't always crack and split...the rubber compresses over time and lowers the clearance between the cab and the frame. Check your body lines where the cab meets the bed. Are they lined up perfectly? My bet is the cab is low by 1/2" or more.

1999 and up use a 8-170mm lug pattern that will NOT work on the 97down trucks. Old trucks use 8-6.5" lug pattern. You'd need alloy wheels from an old body style truck in order for them to work.
Run it. The IDI won't make enough power to hurt it, and you won't be towing heavy behind a van.

Just have your part house check the part numbers. My first clutch was a Sachs labelled "HD" in the part number indicating "heavy duty". In talking with a product engineer at Sachs, they offer a standard duty clutch which has the EXACT same spring configuration as the LUK that I installed...
