    remote mounting hydraulic winch

I used to work as a Toyota master tech, and had a Landcruiser customer that had an old chevy power steering pump mounted on a briggs motor on a rack on his rear bumper, with quick disconnects for the hoses to power his hydraulic winch on the front or the rear of his Landcruiser. It'd be cheap...

I'm about to install the newly released Sidewinder Kit!

There's supposed to be a rubber gasket in there.

Has anyone used an MLS type head gasket on IDI's yet?

Not on my IDI, but my Supra has one. You're right, the finish and machining tolerances are important, but a good machine shop should have no trouble setting you up. I actually lapped the block in the car on my Supra with a lapping disc and valve lapping compound. it's a helluva workout...

New E fan assembly FINALLY finished

60A worth of badass Electric Fans! Nice! Can't wait to see the finished project, and to see you put a load on the truck and bury the pedal without any overheating issues!

A nice, QUIET muffler? do they exist??

I'd look for a factory exhaust off of a late model Powerstroke. It seems everyone is rushing to install a flashy aftermarket exhaust on those trucks, and someone would likely GIVE you the old factory exhaust if you took it out of their way. The modern trucks have a nice quiet muffler and...

    ATS 093 hat o-ring part#

Cross reference it to McMaster-Carr catalog. Order a square cut o-ring in the correct diameter, whatever thickness you want. I warped my ATS Intake hat welding on it for my setup, and ordered a 1/4" thick o-ring to take up the warpage. Haven't had it leak yet. Silicone is not intended to...

    The Performance Wars

I was trying so hard to stay out of this debate, but since a good chunk of what you posted came from my thread about DPS products and my experiences, I guess I'll chime in. NMB2- Your truck is running great, bottom line. I was hoping create a thread like yours when I started tinkering with...

    Wiring... Brake controller?

The other thing looks like a shock sensor from an aftermarket alarm. Adjustable threshold via the screws on it, and LEDs to indicate trigger points during setup.

. Sure did. November 2008. Glad you got an o-ring in there. Ryan

    Ats install issue

5 1/8" is the correct size, but a 5" would stretch I'm sure. Square cut is ideal, but I used a round one to seal mine, as my custom intake hat warped a little while welding, and I needed to take up the warpage. Ryan

    Ats install issue

Order yourself a viton o-ring from McMaster Carr to seal the pressure chamber. They'll have the size you need in whatever thickness you want. I have a new ATS pressure chamber to intake manifold gasket laying in the garage somewhere if you can't find one. I use a 1/4"thick Viton oring on mine...

    Help a newb.

I wouldn't be afraid of putting a turbo on that engine. In my opinion, a good turbo setup is all it takes it go from miserable to enjoyable driving one of these old trucks. The beauty of the medium-duty setup is that you'll have plenty of room to add the turbo and not fight the issues most of...

    Brake calipers and rust...

I spent 10 years as a dealership technician, and always used a NAPA product called sil-glyde. It's a silicone based lube that does a great job of keeping water off parts and preventing rust from occuring. Also, it doesn't make a huge mess like anti-sieze. Ryan

    intercooler setup/fabrication

For what it's worth, I don't think the ATS setup will limit you at all with future mods. I'm running a DPS pump on mine currently, and at the low altitude here in Vegas it doesn't even smoke, and I can't get the EGT's up high enough to worry, even loaded. Back home in Albuquerque, at 5000'...

    Remove topper and add stacks?

No. You don't need stacks unless you have more than 2 axles. I don't usually knock anyone for setting up their truck the way they want, but there is no performance to be gained by having stacks, and in my opinion the recent fad of adding them is a bit like putting a biplane wing on the back of...

Nevada / Las Vegas IDI meet?

Good to hear from you Tom! Can't wait to check out the photos when you get those trucks together! Mine just sits now that I have a company truck, but it's still nice to get it out and run it on the weekends. I'm only about 1.5 hours from Havasu. That's actually part of the territory I call...
