Using a motorcycle style in-line cable luber works great too. I hit mine with some lube 2x a year and it still works great.
Also, I find that "nothing fits like factory" no matter who the manufacturer is. Ford parts are hands-down better than the aftermarket for stock replacement parts in my...
The sealant is window urethane sealant. You can get it at any decent glass shop. The newer stuff usually will set-up more like windshield sealant, not stay all gooey like the factory stuff. It does, however, seal better.
I resealed mine, as they were letting water in and caused a little...
Have you looked into the legalities of this yet? Most states won't let you put a diesel engine into a chassis that was originally a gasser, or an engine out of an older vehicle than it's getting installed into.
Not tryin to be discouraging, just asking.

Go oldschool. Put the studs in the freezer and heat up the hub with a heat gun. Maybe that will give you enough difference in size to get things to go into place with a little persuasion...

Thanks for the info on the push vs pull on this pump. I wasn't trying to be critical, just curious if it's been looked into. I hadn't kept up with the recent discussion regarding the matter...
Here's a link to the relay and connector I was referring to...
Great write up! One suggestion is to use a relay connector pigtail rather than the uninsulated crimp on terminals for a "cleaner" install, and to prevent accidental short circuits. Also, aren't electric pumps designed to "push" rather than "pull" fuel from the tanks? It's my understanding...
I'm still here. Been following all the latest stuff from a distance. Still have my old truck covered up here at the house. We need a Las Vegas get together so I have an excuse to drive it!

Sounds like we need to put together a Vegas IDI meet...
Bummer about your Supra. I know I've sunk a ton of money into mine- id be pissed too if a careless driver took it away from me!

For trail rides, air down the tires- even if it's easy terrain. It makes a huge difference in ride quality and it's free. You can probably go down to 10-12psi and not roll a bead off depending on your tires and terrain.
I run 5-7 psi in my truggy, but it's got bead locks and is a lightweight...
I'll blame it on the OMG (Old Man Glasses). didn't read this part before. Are your HKS gaskets MLS? If so you may have already have the first step of what we are looking for.
The HKS gasket I was referring to is installed on my Toyota Supra- Not my IDI. Yes, it is a MLS gasket.

He's got video for sure. And it does seem to run really well. What kills me is that there aren't any gauges installed yet. I watched the videos, and he didn't run it hard enough to be in any danger, I realize, but when he's posting videos as a means of defending all his hard work, wouldn't you...
Want some really good springs? Contact Alcan or Deaver spring and have some custom made spring packs. That's my plan when I convert my F250 to a D60 front axle...

Mine don't squeak at all, but I put a small amount of silicone grease on the bushings where they contact the body and frame when I installed them. I was in NM when they were installed and live in NV now, so they don't get exposed to lots of moisture.
My sleeves were a bear to remove, but I...
I swapped to the Polyurethane bushings on my 92 because the factory rubber mounts were shot. It definitely is a little stiffer- I think those soft rubber factory bushings are designed for ride comfort. The new poly bushings are stiff, but not too bad. The nice thing about the poly bushings is...
Hey guys-
I haven't been real active on the board in a while, mainly because my truck has been parked for the past year or so. I have a company vehicle now, so the IDI has been retired from DD Duty and relegated to holding down the driveway and dragging the trailer around when needed, which...
My premier power welder works as good as any other stick welder I've used. It's patched some pretty bad breaks back together and kept us from walking every time. It also doubles as a high output alternator to run lights, electronics, etc. in place of the 40A stock alternator my Toyota had. I...
Look into a company called Premier Power Welder. They specialize in engine-driven welder setups. I've got one on my Toyota Rockcrawler and it works great.
