Thanks for the offers of help. I need to get my schedule together and figure out when ill have time to work on it. Heath- Thanks for the input. I'll get it torn down and see what I can do about warrantying the flywheel. I'm not optomistic but we will see. As for your photo- I prefer my kind of tranny trouble to your sort of trannie trouble...- reklund

Thinking more and more about this- the noise didn't start until I put the clutch in. What are the odds that the trans is suddenly bad after a clutch install. Is it possible to have gotten a "bad" clutch and flywheel kit? Flywheel out of balance or otherwise no good?- reklund

noise stops as soon as the pressure plate is depressed enough that the input shaft stops spinning with the engine. Noise is bad in neutral, but there is a definite noise at speed as well. At least I brought all my tools home with me...- reklund

Made it home today. Truck ran great, got 12mpg dragging the trailer full of all my tools and equipment. The trans now sounds horrible, with a vibration at 2300rpm in 5th gear. I have no idea if I messed up the pilot bearing when I stabbed the trans, or if i have another issue. Anyone want to...- reklund

On a positive note, the pedal feel is awesome with the new setup. Ill be pulling the interior when I get home to do some floorboard repairs where the seats and console mount. I agree they wouldn't do anything- they can't re-engineer parts at the dealership level. My point is that Ford stopped offering a DMF kit and made the SMF the only option. I don't think that would be approved these days for install at a dealer due to the NVH concerns. I can't imagine any...- reklund

DONE! Flywheel arrived this morning at 9:30. I was at the shop at 10, and done by 11:30. All went well, but the rollover noise is pretty noticeable, especially stopped in neutral without the clutch depressed. Had parts overnighted Friday, but they sent the wrong flywheel. My original DMF is in excellent shape, but the pressure plate is done. multiple 80-97 trucks parting out
I need the trailer wiring pigtails from the rear of the truck- 2 connectors, one grey, one black. Need about 8" of wire along with the plugs if they're in good shape. Willing to cut them off of a 92+ truck? Bonus if you have male an female plugs, or an entire trailer connector (Factory)- reklund
