    7.3 return line kit install

Copper washers go on tips of injectors when installing injectors to the heads. No need to change those if they're not giving you trouble.

LOTS of oil puddled in valley cover; Turbo oil drain?

Before you get crazy and remove the turbo, correct the oil level. Also, oil pressure issues make me think the factory sender or oil supply line might be faulty (and the source of the leak). Clean it up and look around. That oil drain is a gravity feed, non pressurized deal. While a faulty...

    i'm ready to scream...

Another vote for plain old dexIII. Your C6 won't know the difference. Want to see expensive ATF? Price a quart of Toyota World Standard! And yes, I'm in Vegas too, I have a timing meter, and don't mind helping out. Let's set something up. I'll offer my place even. Ryan

The Official "Show Us Your Ride" pictures of member's trucks thread.

Mine's a survivor. I've had a little paint work done to the hood and roof to take care of some peeling clearcoat, and some repair work to the bottom of the cab under the extra cab to take care of some rust, but it certainly hasn't been completely restored. I just try to keep it nice. It...

    New member! New proud owner!

Like riot warrior said, no intercooler on there, or at least it's not hooked up. There may be an intercooler mounted in the grille, but it's not hooked to anything. Maybe you're seeing the AC condenser? Either way, it's got a nice ATS aftermarket turbo, and if it runs and drives, $1k is...

For $1000 you did great, especially if its turbocharged AND intercooled.

Got embarrassed today by a Toyota

Gotcha. The integrated hitch has bit me before too...long story there, but I get your point for sure. Thanks for the feedback- I didn't realize Toyota was the only one welding in the hitch/xmember like that. Ryan

Got embarrassed today by a Toyota

No doubt that F150 EcoBoost is a nice truck. I've driven several. But hook a trailer to them and they fall on their face. The fuel economy sucks, they are wound up to keep the turbos spooled, and they run hot. How do you figure the Tundra gets worst-in-class MPG? Looking at the...

Is it that much worse than any other late model truck though?

Got embarrassed today by a Toyota

I love when people get to see how capable the Tundra is! Having both an IDI and a Tundra, it's a hard choice when it comes time to hook up a trailer. Trucks have come a LONG way since the IDI was designed.... Ryan

    ATS 093 Comp Housing

No rtv for sealing pressure in the intake tract. It's not made for that at all. I've had wonderful success using viton o-rings from mcmaster-carr. I have a 1/4" thick o-ring for my intake hat and it works great. You can look up by diameter, thickness, round, or square cut on the mcmaster...

New single mass and new problems

I did have trouble with my inspection cover hitting the cast-in counterweight on the flywheel. I forgot to mention that. My inspection cover is on a shelf in the garage right now, since I'll hopefully have the trans out again soon to replace it. I'll "massage" it so it clears the flywheel...

Is it worse than the other day? All I heard was gear clash for the trans, but maybe I wasn't listening for the right noise...

Reattaching the fuel selector switch back in place...

You need to add some reinforcement if at all possible. I used some aluminum flat bar I had laying around. I also filled the upper post with epoxy and built it up around the post, then drilled and tapped it for a machine screw rather than a self tapping screw. Mine has been like this for years...

relocating gp controller for turbo install

I have the ATS Aurora 2000 kit (similar placement to 093) with the GPC in the factory location. I've even had to change the GPC once, wasn't bad at all. Like others have said, just use the heat shield and you'll be fine.

Any one use a davco sight glass o-ring for the turbo hat to intake seal?

I just ordered some square cut o-rings from McMaster-Carr. They have every size you could ever need, and you can get them in Viton so they're oil-resistant.

Cab floor pans the same 83-96?

Well this TSB was released in 1990, so no chance of getting it done for free anymore I bet. Either way, I'm curious if the panels are available for purchase and if they will work on my 1992.

Cab floor pans the same 83-96?

My trucks floor pan is cracked where the bucket seats mount. I removed the factory bench seat and installed buckets years ago, and during the course of removing and installing the transmission recently, I noticed the floor was cracked, which would explain why my seat leans to the inside. I...

Source for Remanufactured MANUAL trans (ZF-5, 4WD)

Got a quote from Zumbrota yesterday for $1250 + shipping and core charge. That's about what I'm willing to part with. Still looking at standard transmission and gear and 6 states transmission. Thanks for the link to the used one, but I really want a "new" reman unit rather than another used...

Source for Remanufactured MANUAL trans (ZF-5, 4WD)

Guys- You may remember my trouble with the clutch and trans back in February. It appears that the first SMF that I installed was definitely drilled off center, and in turn damaged the input bearing and mainshaft bearings in my ZF5. I also have worn synchros on 2nd and 3rd gears. Due to my...
