Yeah, I meant 2wd, I accidentally put the 2 and the 4 in backwards order.
I imagine you’ll be closer to 7200# empty after it becomes a 4x4.
Good luck with that radiator! I hope you are able to put in a new Overflow nipple on without too much trouble
Wes @Thewespaul from Classic Diesel Design has recommended using a governor spring from a Detroit 6.2 injection pump. I think it’s easier to source the 6.2 springs
I hope it’s just from the insides just getting de-scaled. I don’t think you have anything to worry about if the original coolant before the flush was clean. Also, usually when a cooler blows, oil can get in the coolant, but coolant can’t get in the oil because of the pressure differences in the...
The block heater heats up the coolant in the engine when it’s plugged in, which warms the entire engine, and in turn makes for muck easier starts in the morning or in winter
It sounds like a bad starter to me. And I believe that three prong plug is your block heater. The block heater plugs into the block right behind the starter making it appear it goes to the starter
What I’m thinking is eventually getting Wes’s idit supercore upgrade, an 110 pump from Wes or Justin or a Bull Moose pump, head studs, and then an Intercooler
Exactly. I’m pretty happy with how the intake works. My stock turbo hits 11psi with 950 egts pulling the grades now. It’s wastegated at 11, so it would easily would go higher, but then the cold side compressor wheel super heats the air it’s pushing into the engine which kinda defeats the purpose...
Today I went to town for the first time in a couple weeks to fuel up (diesel is at $2.25 now). This is the first time in the last two weeks the truck wasn’t dragging my dump trailer around, so this is the first test of how well my new cowl induction air intake works under normal circumstances...
My temps are similar to @Oledirtypearl86 temps. I idle at 220 and I’m not able to get over 1100 when I’m towing, which is due to some intake and exhaust mods. Honestly the temps @KevSrFord posted sound just about normal to me
I’m glad it wasn’t damaged. It’s probably a good idea to sleeve it. That engine had 297,000 miles and ran pretty bad when I got it. It is pretty odd that it would blow that rear freeze plug like it did
Hey Carson! I’m the kid who sold you the 7.3 idit core. I’m just curious if there was any obvious damage in the internals when you tore down the block?
