7.3 idi number 1 injector van??

You can also use a number 1 line off a 6.9 I did that a few times no problems. I can't answer your question for certain, but the number 1 line shouldn't affect the other 7, I know it doesn't with a 6.9 line, not sure why van lines would interfere. Rock

So what did you do with your truck today?

Congratulations Brett, I know it's kind of a bitter sweet deal selling your IDI, but it's sounds like you made out ahead on it. Soooooo............tell us........what are you gonna get to replace it? Lol Rock

    Picked up my E99 zf6

So, this truck had an afe cold air intake on when I bought it. I didn't have anything against the intake kit except for the filter itself. I just don't get along with reusable filters, so I wanted to replace it with a replaceable element. The afe piping has a flange pipe that goes from 4 inch to...

To lift or not to lift

I don't know if this helps or not, but I ran 35x12.50x17s on my stock 87 f250 (ttb), with trimmed front bumper. Height wasn't at all a problem even off-road. They were way too wide and rubbed the side of the leaves at full lock, but seeing as your tires are stock width, should be fine in that...

    Self oil burning

I'm well aware that IDIs are made by IH. I've spent just as much time around international trucks as ford trucks with IDIs. I used to have an s1654 6.9. That's not at all what I was talking about. I was referring to IDIs in tractors. Dv550 was used in 68 series tractors, and dts used in 86...

    Self oil burning

I could be wrong, but I was under the impression that IDIs were never used in international tractors. Only the medium duty trucks. The 9.0l,dt360,dt466 we're all used in international tractors and construction equipment, but never the IDI that I'm aware of. Navister was a completely different...

    GN hitch?

It could just be that some idiot used a regular 2 5/16 hitch ball and did nothing but tighten a nut on it.....or, there was a plate that bolted in the 4 holes, and the ball just sat in that hole for depth. Rock

    IDI stuff

Yeah, that's a bit far unfortunately. I'm selling all my IDI related stuff. I bought a powerstroke 2 weeks back and sold my IDI trucks. I miss the simplicity of the IDIs, but I really needed a granny gear and dually, so I had to go newer to avoid building a truck from the ground up. If I had...

DTI Tech Time on the way!

I would recommend just swapping a 6.9 #1 injector line. Those timing adapters aren't worth the trouble unless you have one of the ford rotunda meters. Rock

    News on Big Red

Yup, it was definitely a lot more oil than I would have wanted, but they all ran great otherwise and never missed a beat. I don't know any of the history on them, but I don't think any of my trucks had an easy life, and they were all but 1 over 200k when purchased. Rock

    News on Big Red

All of the IDIs I had would burn a lot of oil. I'm talking a consistent 2 gallons per 1k miles....... IDIs are like 2 stroke Detroits, if you can keep oil in em', they'll last forever. Rock

Need help ASAP, truck is dead!

I believe the alternator I have has an internal regulator already. I swapped in a new 180 amp alternator for an ambulance package truck. I'm a huge fan of keeping things simple, there are just a lot more wires on this rig than my IDIs had. Rock

Need help ASAP, truck is dead!

It's been 3 days now, and the truck is doing great. It's holding voltage at 13.5v no problem. It seems like it has more power too. Obviously it starts a lot better since it's not sitting at 11v. I would really like to know why the fuse was missing, but I did notice there was also a fuse in a...

If you ever saw how the PO drove, it would remove all wonder....... I thought we were gonna die before we made it to the notary... My guess is, it happened right before I bought it, and he was just keeping the batteries charged without mentioning it. Rock
