    4.56 gears???

It took me a little while to figure it out, but I just used it this morning. It looks like I can run 70 no problem, which would be great. The only downfall to this, is when I run 70 mph in reverse, I'll be at 15k rpm,lol Seriously though, I'm thinking about going through with regearing. That...

    4.56 gears???

That's an interesting thought, I may have to look into that just for the sake of it being a practical job. Thanks Rock

    4.56 gears???

Update.... This morning I towed an 8x8x18 12 ton wagon with 120, 100 pound bales.. This was by far the heaviest hay wagon I've had behind a pickup. It had to be around 15k with the wagon. I only had to take it like 8 miles, but that took 45 minutes.. I barely..... barely pulled the first hill in...

    4.56 gears???

Hey Chris, I don't do an awful lot of highway driving. Usually if I'm on the highway, I'm just hauling/towing cattle or equipment so I don't go faster than 65 anyhow. My 6.9 had 3.55s as well, and I always had to use low range to start out, and then shift to high. This transfer case has one of...

"Engineering Study Exchange Program" Decal on ZF-5 (1987 F-250)

I don't know if the build date is on there or not, since I never looked for it. I do have a picture of the door tag though if it helps Rock

    4.56 gears???

so,i'm really starting to hate 3.55s for what I do. I am getting ready to do a clutch job and have been tossing around the idea of either a granny gear transmission with over drive from a international, or regearing the differentials. I imagine regearing is best since it's 4x4, so if that's the...

"Engineering Study Exchange Program" Decal on ZF-5 (1987 F-250)

My 1987 bricknose 6.9 was a factory t19 4 speed. I was told the zf5 replaced the t19 in early 1987 and that the 4 speed was only made for the first part of the year. I've only ever seen 2 other brick nose 4 speeds. They were only made a few months like that. So I suppose it would be considered a...

I pulled the old 86 out of the weeds

When you think the clutch is fully bled ........... Pump it some more....lol I found bench bleeding to be the only way to make it happen while keeping my sanity. I can't tell you how many times I pumped those pedals just for them to hit the floor in town... Rock

    For Sale Gear Vendors Overdrive

can you split gears with it, or is it just an overdrive? I'm not very familiar with these. I'm only 30 minutes away or so. Thanks Rock

    Mudflaps

I took some mudflaps off an f super duty dump truck, cut to height, and bolted on the bumper of my old 6.9 . There wasn't enough width on each side in front of the bumper, so they had to go on the back like that.. I don't think it looked that bad either. They did the job. Rock

So what did you do with your truck today?

I spent 10 hours working on the bed today. It's all done, and I couldn't have done it without my neighbor. the bed had to come of 3 times, and I had to drill six 1/2 inch holes in the frame which took up most of the afternoon.. I hauled firewood with it today, and the best part was starting out...

    Anyone near Pulaski, Tn

I bought one thinking it was the oil cooler, turned out to be cavitation..... Just saying it's a gamble unless you are prepared to swap the motor. Rock

So what did you do with your truck today?

After almost 4 hours of mostly tracing wires, I sorted out through the rats nest on the bed and started wiring in the lights.. I used a 4 flat trailer harness as the harness plug for the bed.. I have to remove the bed tomorrow to finish the mounts, so I wanted a plug on the harness.. The lights...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Well, not really but I made a deal with the guy a month ago, assuming my crew cab would be ready by now. Let's just say I have been short on time. Rock

So what did you do with your truck today?

The crew cab is well worth the hunt, but I will say the turning radius absolutely sucks.... Halfway through a really wide turn, it just seems as if it's still going straight..lol. I am actually disappointed with the turning radius for what I do, but eventually I'll figure something out to...

So what did you do with your truck today?

I sold "ole blue" yesterday morning I'm gonna miss that truck, it always did me good and I've been racking up miles on it everyday for the last year with little trouble. The guy who bought was very happy with the truck, and I was happy it's going to be taken care of, but the only downside of...

    DT360 powered trucks

My bad, I didn't realize he was wanting to swap a dt into a ford.. I that case, I would agree that the dt466 is massive for a pickup. I was referring to a stock international truck.. Rock

1994 F350 idi..... with a gear vendor o/d and an exhaust brake

Lol, well the fact is, that makes it nicer for us, since those coal rollers don't want them.. That's why I can afford these trucks.. I also like that you don't see em' everyday.. Rock

1994 F350 idi..... with a gear vendor o/d and an exhaust brake

I couldn't agree more with that...99 percent of the time, I use low range for reverse and I use 1st and 2nd low every day. Try backing up a hay wagon with 3.55s in 2hi reverse....by by clutch...... My crew cab had a new clutch put in 5k miles before I bought...the folks burned out the clutch in...
