I know someone on here was looking for a truck like this not long ago, but I couldnt' locate the thread.

What gears to you have in your truck? The turbo you have will spool late, but if you have 4.10s you might like that because you will be running in that range anyway. I have 3.55s and a zf and like the factory 093 wastegated because it spools much lower in the rpm range. I rarely spend any time...
I am running 285 75s currently on aftermarket rims. Stock suspension but the bumper is spaced out about an inch. It was done by the PO so it may not be necessary.
They fit fine, but I would be wary of putting them on stock rims.
You seem to have it covered. Only thing I would note is use an IH or Ford thermostat. Aftermarket ones will not work correctly.
How many miles are on the truck? I am having a hard time imagining you have a virgin E4OD.
Easiest thing for you would be to swap transmissions. In an 89 you have a zf-42 early model five speed. I think it was 95 that they switch to the zf-47. That transmission, though it looks identical had several upgrades, one of which was a lower first gear.
I think you can also put the first...
I had to replace my cluster about 10 years ago to correct a e4od issue. At the time it was $300 to get a rebuilt cluster from ford with your correct ODO reading on it.
Never seen it on a diesel, but I had a 360 once that was nasty gunked up inside. The drain ports in the heads were clogged so oil couldn't drain back into pan. It ran great and burned about a quart of oil every 30 miles.
As jayro said, pull the valve covers and see what you can see. With my...
That would make sense, however I am going to stick by my contrarian diagnosis. I've never been wrong before, so odds are this may be my first time.:joker:
I am going against the flow. If you really have 3/4 of a tank then fuel should still be above the point where the showerhead breaks off. Mine are gone on both tanks and its not till I get to 3/8 tank that I start sucking air. Even when I suck air, as long as I drive on straight flat ground I...
That is a very cool car. Too bad its rusty. You probably already know this, but it has parts on it that will bring good money on fleabay. If the headlights and taillights are both in good shape they can bring a couple hundred bucks each!
Let us know if you start selling parts. I have a blue...
I think you may be missing that air in the return lines migrates to the pump, so you have air in the injection pump as well.
That air in the pump, does all these things that others described well.
Like Russ said, at the drop of a hat. It sat for two months this summer and then I started it and headed off on a 400 mile trip. My aux tank gives me almost 2000 miles of range so the next trip for the 94 is to upstate NY and back to visit the inlaws.
As many of you know, my IDI mercedes...
I have been traveling for work and haven't been on here much. I didn't realize this thread had kept going.
Here is an oddball that could be turned into a cool family toter.....http://atlanta.craigslist.org/eat/cto/5835417803.html
