    Appleseed Processor

I ran my turbo ford advanced for quite a while, but I recently moved it back to 9.5 and like it better there. Advanced it smoked too much. One warning, if you get crappy fuel it shows up as a sticking metering valve in the fords. That has happened to me several times over the years. It will...

    Appleseed Processor

The other thing I have found is you need to be careful with the unleaded if you are working the engines hard. There is lots on the internet about using unleaded to blend year round, but I have found if you are towing or running full hp for extended periods (bushogging or baling hay) any...

    Appleseed Processor

I run 80/20 wvo/diesel. In winter I replace 2.5 gallons of wvo per barrel with unleaded to help it start on cold mornings and burn more completely. Been doing that for 12 years now, with about 200K miles and 100s of hours on tractor and backhoe. I don't get involved in the online banter...

    Appleseed Processor

I have no supplemental heat. I tried it for a while but found it more of a hassle than it was worth. If it will start, it will run on wvo. I blend to get it through the filters in cold weather.

    Front Cab Mounts

Jc Whitney used to sell replacements that you can weld or screw into place right over the old ones. I would certainly do that before scrapping. 100 hours is for restoration grade work, you should be able to throw some new cab mounts under there for less than 10. It won't last forever, but...

    Appleseed Processor

I built an appleseed processor about 13 years ago, and made biodiesel in it for several years. I haven't made any in at least 5 years now. I blend only diesel and a small amount of gas with WVO. Its much easier.

    Clutch problems?

Where in the pedal travel does it engage? My 94 is doing the same thing after my wife smoked the clutch pulling a dump truck out of one of our fields. The pedal now engages clutch noticeably higher than before, but I have put a couple hundred miles on it since then and the burned smell has gone...

    My current obsession... 1991\85 MazdaBishi

I am jealous. I drove Izuzu pups for years. They would push 40 on the highway. Eventually it got hard to find them without frame cancer. My son just got an old hardbody and wants to put a five cylinder benz motor I have, but I think its too ambitious for a 15 year old to take on.

    Fuel weight affect on mpg?

Your speed will have a much larger effect on your mileage than the weight of the fuel ever will. Fill up when cheap and keep it under 55. I have long since forgotten the formula for wind speed drag, but if memory serves me at all I believe drag moves up exponentially with wind speed.

    Possible dumb question...

A wastegate dumps excess turbo pressure off the system. It allows for a turbo that can build boost more quickly at lower rpms that otherwise would overboost at the top of the rpm range. If it leaks or dumps boost too quickly it can affect performance.

    Collapsing upper radiator hose

Top hose is pressurized by water pump when running. Bottom hose collapse causes overheating. That is why it has the wire spring inside it.

    Collapsing upper radiator hose

Pulling a slight vacuum as the engine cools is normal. That is how the coolant blown in the overflow tank when the engine gets hot gets sucked back into the radiator.

Full or empty tank while stored in south

I would leave everything full. I have started diesels after a decade with no ill effects. The diesel doesn't go bad as long as there is not water in there, and water gets in mostly through condensation and an empty tank. If your fuel system is tight, you should be fine. Remember to throw a...

    New Fuel Tank Selector Valve?

It works perfectly, but you have to steal the electrical plug off a later model truck and splice it in.

    New Fuel Tank Selector Valve?

I put one in my 85. Was not drop in for me because my wiring harness was old. Should work for your 91 as drop in.

    85 E350 no blower

I am going with failing motor on the wipers. That is how they go, first intermittent, then low....... For the blower, first verify power to the motor, if its getting it then get in the motor and check for siezed bearing or trash in the squirrel cage. That will give you random function and its...

    Shower head/ fuel tank share

T-rex is an aftermarket seller of sending units on ebay. I have used there stuff and it seems to be good quality. I have not tried the bronco tank in a c&c. I have two c&c trucks and just tolerate the sending unit issues.

    Shower head/ fuel tank share

That is worth considering. According to t-rex, there is no aftermarket options for sending units on that plastic tank.
