You are overthinking it. If the cap has been on the tank, just turn it on and see what happens.
Do carry a spare filter, and if you are really worried, plumb a cheap clear disposible prefilter in the hose ahead of the lift pump. That way if you do have issues you can quickly see what they are.
What makes you think this? I mostly use Lucas as engine assembly lube, but decades ago I used it regularly on worn out engines to stretch their lives. It always quieted things down and cut oil consumption way down. I broke down a couple of those engines later and never saw this.
It is just...
There are lots of MB mopar adapters out there. I have seen them in full size trucks too, but they are set up as econoboxes, not pullers. It would be like putting a 4bt in a full size instead of a 6bt.
Yes they will test good even if they are bad. The only foolproof test I know is to pull them and put 12v to them. Often when they test good and are bad if you pull them you will find that only a small portion of the tip gets hot at all. There is enough continuity for the ohm tester, but not...
I am looking for a Jeep Comanche to stick one in right now. I have seen a couple fairlane wagons I have though would do well with one, but I am trying to build my wife's next daily driver and the old american steel seems to need lots of rust repair to get it back on the road.
I know this part of the forum doesn't get much traffic, but I had to post some pics from yesterday of my 85 300TD.
This thing has 440,000 miles on it and just won't quit. We got hit in the front end and bent the frame while on a cross country trip 4 years ago but it made it back to TN. When I...
At this point he should warranty it based on what he chose to weld to. That is all on him and you should broadcast far and wide how you were treated if he doesn't make it right.
Sorry. When I posted earlier I had my 1994 on the brain. I forgot you were a bricknose. I have a good non ac support for a bricknose if anyone needs one. Looks like the ac ones are made of gold...
Not mine, but figured it was worth a post in case someone is looking.

I would fill it with this instead of regular R-134. Its a hydrocarbon blend so the molecules are larger and more similar to r-12. That means it will not leak through the old r-12 hoses like 134 will.
Also it performs more similar to r-12. Conversions without a parallel flow condenser to...
its a crap shoot. It could have been something jammed in the selector valve, or it could be malfunctioning. When you get it home, verify that it is properly switching again (with both supply and return) and if it is I would run it. Once the engine is warm, you can usually tell where the return...
If you have smoke from the tail pipe, Next thing to do is delete the egr if it has not already been done.
Have you checked your boost levels? This is a wastegated turbo so you want to see that it is functioning correctly.
Also confirm that the alda boost sensor line was plugged when the alda...
The Alda matches fuel output with boost on these engines to keep them from overfueling before the turbo spins up. Shimming or adjusting will give it more fuel sooner.
I have never shimmed one, only adjusted and never had one break, but I last adjusted one a decade ago so things in them may be...
I have my facet pump plumbed in just after the mechanical one and mounted on frame just behind radiator. Its been this way for last 50K with no issues (or check valves or other mods).
I ran facet only for a while and ran into starvation issues with WVO. I actually hooked the mechanical pump...
You need to start isolating things and go from there. If your fuel filter light comes on, that means you have a vacuum in your filter housing so issue is not in your injectors, fuel return lines or injector pump.
I would start at the lift pump. There is a volume spec out on the internet for how...
I am doubting the air intrusion idea.
The OP says the filter light comes on. That light comes on when there is negative pressure in the fuel filter housing, meaning the injection pump is pulling more than the lift pump is pumping.
I can't see air intrusion causing that.
Thewespaul inline...
I have had a lift pump give your symptoms, but also the half stuck selector valve. That one was harder to figure out.
If you suspect that, try tapping it with a hammer while someone else switches it back and forth. Sometimes they get junk in them that jams them up,
If it is the lift pump...
I have a facet plumbed in tandem with my mechanical. I tried facet alone and it ran out of fuel when working hard. By plumbing it after the mechanical, I avoided the issue with having the electric fill the crankcase when the mechanical fails.
I see 10-12 psi at the filterhead at idle and...
