    Clutch pedal assembly wearing

get another one that isn't worn. rebuild it and grease the heck out of it with synthetic caliper grease. yes, it's an all day job and yes you do have to pull the column if you don't like being a contortionist.

    Extended Cab On Standard Frame?

i've done the mod on a couple of commercial chassis where the standard cab with 86'd and a supercab was mounted. the rear floorpan must be modified for the frame "kickup" and I drilled into the crossmember for the mounting. i'll have to dig up pics later.

    Towing temps

stupid question. where is your pyro stuffed? only numbers I have is the pyro. I'm just outside of the driver's side exhaust manifold on the crossover pipe. with IC, I have yet to push past 1000* with a 10k/lb gross and a 10k/lb trailer. still running at 55 mph on a 7* grade up I80 heading into...

    Project "ugly stepchild".......

Picked up a couple of boonie trucks. One was actually non-op'd. It's a big deal in kali since registration fee penalties are ungodly. Going to pull apart the F350 and build the F250 with the parts. Truck #1 is a 1988 F250 SC with a waterlogged 7.3 and a ZF5. Truck #2 is a 1987 F350 4x4 with a...

three years of back tags is keeping this truck from getting back on the road. pickup dually rear 3.55 ratio, $1100 factory dually pickup box, $1000 tommygate $700 obo, any other parts requests....pm me. if you really want to buy the complete vehicle..... $2000 photos are old photos from when I...

    Drilling into the frame?

firstly, if your girl gets muddy with you to dig out the truck.......don't ever let her go. I used to recover the local utility co. trucks and they are dragged through stuff worse than that and they are still built the "old style" way. but hey, what do I know. :D

    Drilling into the frame?

excessive overkill. besides, unless you are will lubricated between the metal, the chafing you can't stop and the squeak from the chafing will drive you insane. the payload comparison between a f250 vs a duce is great. they need extreme movement, you don't. but hey, knock yourself out. even...

    Drilling into the frame?

you'll need to account for the non-flat frame of the older F-series. a u-bolt tie-down with a hardwood bedding between the frame and flatbed is more than enough for our little trucks. the spring system for the duce is overkill as well as noisy when you're experiencing normal road travel since...

    Drilling into the frame?

never an issue asking intelligent questions. asking the same damn questions when a simple search can find the answer? that pisses me off. this isn't one of those cases.

    Drilling into the frame?

you can drill just about anywhere in the vertical parts of the frame. my rule of thumb is 1/8" to 1/4" from the horizontal bend is fair game. considering I build and run towtrucks and have yet to crack a frame in one of my builds since 1987, I think I 'm doing pretty good :D i've run all the...

    Any guesstimate on weight?

19.5 in SRW should be ok. DRW is the safety factor.

that it is. it's a Warn "Enforcer" series. Don't hit nothing with it....it only looks tough. :O there's a 12k/lb planetary electric winch behind the face. not much room in front of the radiator support.

    Turn signals gave up

two things. 1) start simple. replace the turn signal flasher at fuseblock. 2) cycle hazard button on column a couple of time. they tend to "gunk up" from non-use and if you disturb it just right, it wil affect turn signal switch function since their job is to dusrupt the turn signals.

    Any guesstimate on weight?

single or dual rating? dually rating is always lower. be honest, it's a dually app. btw.... I don't hate mud tires, I just dont like to do heavy tow with big tires due to when you have a blowout, the bigger the tire, the deader you will be. :O

    Any guesstimate on weight?

what kind of forklift was used to load you? "normally" my estimates are each pallet is packed to a minimum of 2000 lb to 4000lb. you have 5 pallets visible so the weight on one side is 10 to 20kl/bs. on one side. with both sides loaded equally, you would be 20 to 40k/lbs. that is a load for the...
