what killed me last time is opening my shop for traveler repairs. everybody bailed, I still had a place to clean up and lock up.

in kali, 55 is the limit for towing with trailer. you can push 60 and not get hassled. perfect speed for my slugs.

i have yet to see the dust boot sucessfuly used with the poly stabilizer in green. if it was my job, i'd prefit by putting the green boot on, washer and the poly. see how it goes. if it don't look right, pull off the green and go with the washer and the poly.
iirc the C6 has no barrier in the adapter to keep fluids from entering the GV. the seal on the GV is the only barrier I know of. there is a rubber doughnut on the trans output shaft that "acts" as an oil slinger.
how can I put this bluntly......
you can't turn a 185 rated HP motor into a 300-400 HP motor just by "turning up" a fuel screw. with a injection pump and injectors in good condition, a realistic number of 225 HP might be attainable.
just for the record, my fuel screw on the Nostromo(see sig) has...
unless you are going to throw big money at the IDI, you won't compete with an electronic diesel. if you think a simple turn of a screw will yield big results, you know something more than the rest of us here. if you wallet is ready, google up R&D IDI performance and prepared to set you credit...
1/4 mile time? HAHAHAHAHA :D
last I checked, IH IDI's are great for everyday hauling and pulling.
They don't do so well in the 1/4 mile or sled pulls.
IIRC warm molasses moves faster than my truck(s)
but the truck(s) can outhaul molasses economically.
