Current IDI Projects (need advice/come looksee for fun)

what you want to do is NOT oem.......BUT the parts are available and rare. Most importantly, you have to be patient and have cash ready to go when the parts or vehicles do pop up. years ago I did do a clutch on a IDI Quigley 4x4 converted van, so I do know they do exist. the guy who owns it, did...

    Question on Dana 60s

do not use the D50 springs from a 80-98 truck on a D60 swap. RSK or not. will the D60 bolt up? yes. will you experience misery like noones business? MOST CERTAINLY. the D50 springs are arched the wrong way for a D60. As far as using the '99 and up axles and springs, I cannot speak with any...

    Idle fuel consumption?

the amount is very little. problem is due to being so little, the cylinders are too cold and the rings get washed down. on my in town towtrucks, the best I get is 150k on a motor before the oil consumption goes to a gallon between fillups.

front crank oil seal sleeve doesn't fit

please post a pic of what you have and the packaging with the part number. this is what I've been using for years with no issues. that with the felpro front crank seal and I'm good-to-go. the sleeve you see installed in the pic is in a meal cup you use to beat on with a BFH for installation...

    Rear main seals?

if you installed or are going to install the fel-pro speedi-sleeve on the crank, you can only use the rubber seal with spring ONLY. the new design seal does not have enough "give" to accomodate the installed speedi-sleeve.

    Turbo Setup Poll

i've worked on "on demand" superchargers where they are "normally off" until certain preprogramed parameters are met, and then the electric clutch engages. it's all about programing these days, i can see this concept being a better fit for a PSD than a IDI, but *IF* I'm allowed to dream....this...

    Fuel selector valve

they're the same. that's the good news. before you get started, go to your local auto parts store and get at least three 5/16 fuel line clips and three 3/8 fuel line clips. i'd get extras if you lose things easy. the lines are held onto the FSV by the clips. now the bad part.....wear shitty...

1992 F250 XLT w/ATS 088 and Rough Country 4" lift... pinholed... CA. Trade?

i'd rather come to an agreement at your number than piss you off with a number you consider insulting. unless you deserve to get roughed up bad, I always treat people like we may meet again in the future.

1992 F250 XLT w/ATS 088 and Rough Country 4" lift... pinholed... CA. Trade?

quite honestly, the logistics of where you are, what it needs, and what you want for it, doesn't pencil out. it needs a motor but you asking for a running truck price. pm me your bottom line and maybe we can talk. I'm not going to lowball you, but I know what I can get these for, running or not.

    Regearing or aux overdrive

regear to 4.56's is the simplest. being out there in BFE I'd think twice on a aux OD. I've killed my share over the years.

Cross country roadtrip - Oregon to Pennsylvania

for 20 years I had to chase a deadline. always in a hurry to be somewhere, get a load delivered, literally passing places by at warp speed. literally not being able to stop and enjoy shit. you'd be suprised to see what life looks like when you stop, get off the interstate, and follow where your...

Cross country roadtrip - Oregon to Pennsylvania

I'd agree with you there. we're definitely going against the tide with our old Fords. I swear GM must be giving away those Chevys like they were candy. I did spot one bricknose while visiting ghosttowns, I felt it was better to take a pic from afar than to risk getting shot or bit looking at it...
