    Valley pan plug alternative/replacement?

Your memory is pretty good Russ. 3/4-16 is -8 SAE oring boss thread. Should be a Parker 8 HP50N-S if you want the "hollow hex plug" design with the sunken hex.

    1997 7.3 powertroke E350 no start

Very well thought out fuel system. I really like the fact that you ditched the fuel bowl, but retained the factory fuel pressure regulator and located it someplace that you can actually service it. By the way: I don't hate vans. I just hate working on them. I think the Quigley Sportsmobiles...

    What would you check

You could also think about upgrading the rocker arms to the 7.3 style. You could get lucky and find out that the guy who rebuilt it already did the upgrade (fingers crossed for you).

7.3 IDI Turbo fuel mileage after tuned up?

Have you set the timing on your current pump yet? I’d set the timing, run a filter full of ATF and then a high dose of Hot Shot, and then get a good baseline. 11 mpg sounds a little low, but not really with a E4OD and 35” tall tires (especially if the tires are wider than stock). My old red and...

    1989 F-250 7.3 Project

Love the engine stand. Just wondering: with IDI radiators becoming harder to find, you might want to try to test fit an OBS Powerstroke radiator. I know your current project is a brick nose, but I seem to remember something about the early 1994.5 PSDs using IDI radiators as the core suppprt is...

    pto?

Both of those should be a six bolt opening, but the drive gear, driven gear, arrangement and output may all need to be changed for your application. It’s not going to be a straight bolt on. if you got a great deal on it and it’s red, a good Chelsea dealer might be able to help you set it up. If...

    7.3 IDI won't stay running

Nothing wrong with filling your filter with straight Diesel Kleen. Most folks changing a filter will fill up the new filter with Diesel Kleen or ATF, either one works just fine to run any IDI.

    HPOP Fitting O-rings

Two questions: did you rebuild or replace the HPOP snap to connect adapters? Also, how many miles on your truck? It is also possible that the hose connection could be bad. One more question: did you get the ports in the HPOP and the threads on the adapters super clean and put Loctite 680 on...

OBS Dually Rear Drums: Any brand preferences?

I'm starting to notice a little bit of pulsation in my rear brakes. I've verified it's the rears as applying the parking brake at slow speeds results in similar pulsations. I've got a little taller rear tires than stock now and it may be that I'm noticing it more now due to the taller tire...

    Potential but or money pit

If you can buy a new short or long block and you either run the right coolant and monitor the oil cooler temps, 6.0 PSDs can be very dependable even without studs. You could also do all the bulletproofing on a new rebuild and get a dependable power plant too. Jasper brings up a good point on...

    Fuel Bowl Drain Valve Tube.....

Just wondering: why not just slowly unscrew the filter housing and carefully mop up whatever comes out as you pull the filter out with the lid? That way you don’t use the drain valve at all. If you want to clean out the bowl, use a siphon or turkey baster to remove some or all of the fuel in...

    Fuel Bowl Drain Valve Tube.....

If International would have been really smart, they would have put that leak prone fuel bowl someplace a lot easier to work on, especially on the OBS trucks where it’s right on top of the mechanical pump.

Which One Would You Pick for a Gasser Swap; 6.9, 7.3, or 7.3 PS?

Swapping a PSD is a lot more work due to the electronics. After you spend the extra effort to get it into your OBS, PSDs can definitely make a more power but they also cost a lot more to make that power. Go price a set of upgrades PSD injectors and you’ll start to understand. Nearly everything...

97 7.3 shuts off and sometimes refires

This is a classic symptom of a bad crank position sensor. Google is your friend, go read more about which one to buy to replace yours. If a new CPS doesn't solve your problem, you'll need to plug into your OBD plug and try to monitor using Forscan. Again, Google is your friend. Good luck

1984 6.9l Rough Idle and Surging

How long did it sit and have you taken a look at the fuel? I’d pull the fuel line at the mechanical fuel pump and drain off a mason jar of fuel and take a close look at it. The individual loosening of injector lines is a good tip as well.

    WTB winch bumper

Here’s some details on how I did mine, but keep in mind I had to move my bumper up two inches to account for the body lift, and forward two inches to clear the tires. Bricknose bumpers have a lot more tire clearance, and if you don’t have a body lift, your mount should gets a lot easier...

    WTB winch bumper

Hidden front hitch is my favorite. For mount ideas just go look at how they build the front hitch that hangs below the from bumper and adjust the height to your liking.
