Trust me I blew the blow off valve on this compressor before. I'm kinda partial to leaving it on there because a lot of people said they usually don't fall back down and reseal and it did, I think it might still be the original compressor and it just seems to be a champ. I about froze today, but...

I put my new ball valve system in today, that made a noticeable difference, I don't think the system had much of a chance when its pulling in 95* ambient air with the heater core cooking the hvac box at 200*, it was nice today inside I was cool enough to only need it on 3/4 fan speed.

So bear with me as a few things I've assumed were correct in this are not it turns out after I got home today and did some more work. First my re-circulation door doesn't work at all. Leaking vacuum everywhere, and that is new as about a year and a half ago I know it works when I put the...

Hmm. I do have another compressor I could throw on, I was pretty impressed how cold it was driving around today though, right now with some wind on the road it might be 98% as cold as my vw. This is my spare compressor in this picture, no idea what model or anything else about it as it looks...

Yeah I wouldn't mind getting two three way 5/8 ball valves but finding those with barbed fittings is difficult. I still might do that anyways when I fix that vacuum module for the blend door if I can find it online. Also I have a spare compressor, trying to avoid that for now. That goop was all...

So I do already have the heater hose shutoff by way of the ranger vacuum valve, funny thing is though I noticed last night my blend door actuator thing that uses the vacuum to close the re-circulation door doesn't work. Moves by hand, but can't build enough vacuum to shut. The "thing" itself...

Yeah it's always staying on. I pulled a vacuum and put in the new red tube, its definitely better. I'd say its 90% as effective as my vw system which is one of the coldest ac systems I've ever had, before I'd say it was 75% ish. It's a lot better maybe 95% until I'm at idle now and that's why...

Good call! So this is junk lol.. a bit dirty and a massive hole in the end.. It's the same size as a red. I might try red again instead of blue and hope that a clean orifice helps the system.

Yeah I think that's an orange? Can't tell yet. My removal kit thing that's supposed to grab onto the nubs doesn't come until Thursday and I don't see myself doing anything but making that worse with random tools I create.

Eh it seemed good, 38 on the low side and 230 on the high once it's hot. I already took the disconnect off and I see an orange orifice tube shoved in pretty far.. Post up a picture in a minute, not sure how I'm getting that out.

So the AC in "ernest" in my sig (1990 crew cab) didn't work well when I got it years ago, I vacuumed the entire system and it held, so I made sure the fins in the condenser were good as well as in the evaporator and it's always worked really good ever since I did it. I've never really drove the...

    What is this? (1990 F350 7.3)

Should be a vacuum hose dead center towards the cab for low vaccuum to turn the brake light on.

    Cruise control dosent work

My vacuum reservoir on one of mine looked good, but the coffee can was literally in two pieces at the bottom so anytime I'd try and use cruise I'd just dump all my vacuum. One way to test that is have someone hold their hand over the defrost vent for you while flying down a straightaway with the...

    AC question?

My buddy who does my state inspections in PA, his father used to run a garage, they would occasionally work on AC and there was a "lazy way" his dad would work on his own ac stuff that was R12 originally but needed to be 134a. First jump the low pressure switch and see if the compressor will...

1986 T19 clutch grumble in neutral

Yeah I'd say you have two different problems unfortunately. I had a throwout bearing so bad it literally seized up and when I pressed in the clutch it sounded like this.. I drove it the whole way to @FarmerFrank work 30 miles from home and floated gears a few days after this, managed to only...

    Fuel Pump Block Off Plate

There are for sure two parts numbers and the one will leak some if you don't grind a small part off. I've had both, they are listed on here somewhere but I can't find it. It's an easy fix if you get the wrong one though, just let the truck idle for 5 minutes and find out before you go driving.

    EGT's Seem Too High

Bumped it up a dime, it's down 100 overall roughly. Helped for sure, but it holds high temps differently than my 7.3 still. Same hill the 6.9 got to 65 and could hold it at 950 instead of 55 at 1050. Maybe my 7.3 is just in the perfect suite spot for this, but once I hit 65 on this hill...

    EGT's Seem Too High

It's just strange I get so much more black smoke from the truck that runs with the lower egt's (the 7.3) then what I'm getting out of the 6.9 with the moose pump and injectors. The 7.3 sounds more advanced timing wise when your standing with your head in the engine bay, the "rattle" is more high...

    EGT's Seem Too High

So on my 85 6.9 about two years ago I put a new pump and injectors in from conestoga. Truck smoked a lot more than it used to, but it's a non turbo. I didn't think much of it but put a pyro on it just to be safe and the truck always seemed to run a bit hotter than my 7.3 but it really was never...

    Dealer installed AC?

That's what my bullnose has, it's not any better than the one that doesn't say this in my opinion lol.

    Dealer installed AC?

What's the compressor and evaporator look like? I'm guessing if you have dash vents it was a fancy dealer add on that pushed air after the "vent" was closed. In my bullnose that is non ac and no dash vents when you slide to the far left you can feel the selector shut entirely some door in the...

    Mystery fuel leak

You could always put a paper towel over the injector and zip tie it there and see if it gets wet or if the fuel ends up at the glow plug hole on it's own.
