I'd be fighting that tooth and nail. Anything attached to the truck should be covered. Not 100% sure on the trailer but the boxes and rack were permanent to the truck.
Non-turbo or turbo? Mileage? Blowby?
If it's non turbo, pull the air cleaner and see how much oil is puddled in the intake manifold. If it is turbo... pull the air cleaner and see if there is a puddle in the charger.
Any leaks?
Yeah I figured as much. Didn't want to bash him or anything.. just didn't know of a good way to contact him otherwise (hadn't noticed he had a FB page and I had already tried e-mail and PMing here).
Anyways, I'm sure I'll be getting it pretty soon.
He just replied to my post on his facebook page. Looks like he's waiting on a shipment to come in which should have been there 2 weeks ago. He is still making them as it stands so hopefully I'll be getting it soon.
I do wish I would have been contacted a little sooner though.
That's interesting since I was able to pay for one and I never received word otherwise... and my payment wasn't refunded. He still has the option to buy them on his website.
Hey guys...
Has anyone heard from or talked to the guy that runs Terrapin lately? I've attempted to contact him several times and haven't had any luck.
I ordered a plate a few weeks back and never heard anything after paying for it. I'm aware he's a one man show and what have you.. so I...
Synthetics do clean better then conventional oils... keeping the containment suspended in the oil instead of letting them drop out causing sludge.
The oil leaks most experience when they switch to a synthetic oil (and blame the oil for the leak) is actually a seal that has failed or been weak...
Axle shafts are back in... cover is back on. Everything is stripped down and it's ready to paint.
U-bolts, spring bushings, spring hanger, shocks, and the rear brake line that mounts to the housing are all on order. If I can make room in the shop next week.. I'll hopefully get it swapped...
Lol... I'd say it's fine then. It doesn't take a lot of effort to turn but I actually have to twist my wrist.. it doesn't just spin easy.
And yes.. Sterling 10.25
Thanks for the info
Yup and yes that little tab locates the ends to the tube. The tab needs to be down in the notch.
We put one together by hand earlier that same day... my buddies basically slid together with just a bit of weight on it. It was tight but manageable. That night, I figured I'd do mine...
Hey guys...
I reassembled my hubs tonight following the 65fl lb. spec then backing off 5 clicks for new bearings...
However they still feel pretty snug. Not tight... and they turn smooth... but really stiff.
I never heard the clicks... just felt them. One website I saw says 5 audible...
No. The rears use a ratchet nut assembly where as the fronts use a double nut with lock ring. I set the fronts by feel but the rears actually have a torque spec.
Slowest... brake/hub job... ever... lol
Anyways... hubs are back on. I soaked the new bearings in 75/140 synthetic before installing. I also put a thin bead of RTV on both the inner and outer sealing surfaces of the scotseal (2 piece seal design). Had a bit of pitting and was worried...
I used some 2x4s and the bucket of a FIL on a small tractor to push mine together. Heavy assembly grease on the o-rings and a spotter. Pushed it together nice and easy. Lol
I tried everything else I could... beat on it with a rubber mallet... wouldn't fit in my press... but it worked out.
Lol.. well the d3100 I had due to the big stereo long before the swap (its 7yrs old now)... the 2/0 I was given for free (old welding cable that had splits in the jacket.. I cut it up and the lengths of good cable worked out).
I'm a tight ass. Lol
Interesting... I'm running a single xs-power d3100 with a 6.0 starter on my 4bt. Without block heater, it'll start at 5F without much fuss. It may hit and die a couple times.. but it typically hits quickly without much cranking at all.
I use Delo 5w40 synthetic year round.. and all of my...
So far... so good. I've decided to go through everything on the truck so at some point, it'll get new front fenders and I'll raptor line it like I was originally planning on doing... but that's a ways off.
I dont notice any fade or anything... it's pretty hard to scratch, etc.. I'm...
Brakes are assembled on both sides. Still need to find some parking brake cable retainers (that holds the cable away from the drum) as mine were gone. Then I can slip on the hubs and drums and that's that.
Still need to order u-bolts, spring bushings, sway bar bushings, and the rear flexible...
Valley pan has a drain port which dumps out just above the starter... so for the fuel/coolant leak.. start at the valley pan area. Fuel is probably coming from a return fitting or similar.
As far as the gauges not working... have you checked fuses?
Just for your info.. the stock gauges...
