I'm going to the shop today after I get off work. Hopefully they can show me exactly what is going on and I'll either have the shim chamfered or turn the pinion down a bit.

New 10.25 pinion has lip under pinion head.. shim wont seat??

Hey guys... So I have my 10.25 at the local drivetrain shop getting re-geared. I supplied the gears (Dana SVL 4.88) and install kit (National). The pinion that came out of my housing didn't have any sort of lip under the pinion head (between the bearing surface and pinion head).. however the...

    Aluminum radiator for '93 E350?

Hey guys... Looking for a full aluminum radiator for a '93 E350. I got an E350 based bus given to me and am planning on going over things with a fine tooth comb as it has several multi-thousand mile trips in it's future (as an adventure rig). So.. right now it has a replacement plastic tank...

    '90 F350 Crewcab 4x4 "BFTD" Project..

Bypass filtration up and running. Oil capacity has increased to 14qts total. Everything seems to be working well with no leaks. I may end up increasing the restrictor in the return side at some point but we'll see. Return plumbed through the "lemon plate"... Filter head and filter in...

Restrictor size for bypass oil filtration?

I'm gonna post up over at BITOG and see what they say about the flow rate. It may be fine... just seems really slow. I know that the filter is substantially more efficient the slower the flow.. so that's not a bad thing.

Restrictor size for bypass oil filtration?

Well... .036 is too small. Lol It currently takes 3 minutes to flow 1/2qt of oil... way too slow considering the system now holds 14qts. Will more then likely just step that up to 1/16 but doing some reading on it first.

Still has a knock to it?!

I had one sounding similar to what you are describing. Pull the valve covers on that side... loosen the rocker arms and make sure all the pushrods move freely. I had one punched through the top of a lifter. Also check the rockers themselves as they are prone to breaking and causing a racket.

Just how important is GVWR in these old trucks..?

Precisely why Im buying it. The AC unit and stove are worth more then I'm paying for it. The guy seems pretty straight up. He just bought it... guy told him it had a roof leak but said it was repaired. The guy was in a rush so he loaded it up and went on his way. Got it home and saw some...

Just how important is GVWR in these old trucks..?

Well... ended up coming across a steal of a deal.. so I jumped on it. Found it listed on craigslist needing the roof rebuilt (framing and all)... for 1k... no pictures... no details. I decided to call the guy for giggles. It's a late 90's model 825 (weighs in around 1850 which will keep...

    Anyone using Powerstroke Ambulance alternator?

Here are some pics of it being swapped on a powerstroke. This thing is beefy. Lol http://www.powerstroke.org/forum/94-98-7-3l-performance-parts/177067-ambulance-alternator-upgrade-4.html Apparently all that is needed is 3 - 10mm 1.50 x 110mm bolts as they are quite a bit longer then the...

    Anyone using Powerstroke Ambulance alternator?

I don't think it'll be a problem either way.. I'd say the harness has enough slack to get it there

    Anyone using Powerstroke Ambulance alternator?

Found posts of FTE showing guys with powerstrokes pretty well using this as a bolt on upgrade... so if that's the case, it should be a "bolt on" upgrade for us as well. The harness plug is the same... main power cable needs to be up-sized.. and a ground needs to be added. Otherwise, looks...

    Anyone using Powerstroke Ambulance alternator?

Hey guys... So I was looking around for a higher output alternator to upgrade mine and wasn't having much luck (other then spending $600 or so from DC). Looking around on Rockauto... I found that the 93 idi and 95 powerstroke share alternators... Part nummbers match up on several of them...

What keeps the door glass in the tracks?

Beautiful! Gonna order mine this week. Ordered some Llumar 20% film to tint the glass... just want to make sure the glass stays put and doesn't destroy the film.

What keeps the door glass in the tracks?

Hey guys.. So ever since I bought my truck, the door glass on the driver's side fits loose and can come out of the track. I assume its because the rubber that fits in the track is gone. Is that all that keeps the glass on track is the rubber seal? Getting ready to fix both sides and need to...

Just how important is GVWR in these old trucks..?

My truck has overloads and sway bars on it. It rides decent for a 1 ton with no weight over the rear axle (flatbed). As far as tires go... I'm running military take-off 37" e-rated Bajas. They are "10 ply rated" and have a load carrying capacity of 4400# each @ 65psi. All the heavy weight...

    '90 F350 Crewcab 4x4 "BFTD" Project..

Took it for a nice drive today.... AC was ICE cold and it was 95 outside with high humidity. Even stays cool at stop lights, etc. After I got back, I made up a bracket for my bypass oil filter and welded it up. Not the prettiest work I've ever done... but it'll do. This filter is HUGE...

    '90 F350 Crewcab 4x4 "BFTD" Project..

Well... with temps in the upper 90s and a kiddo that rides along fairly often, I decided to spend some of my re-gear savings and rebuild the entire AC system. New evap core, condenser, drier, hoses, and motorcraft compressor. After it was all said and done, I wish I would have tracked down...

    AC - 134a conversion questions...

Ok.. all together and finally charged after an hour on the vac. pump and 1/2hr leak test. Everything is working good thus far. Still need to get my controls working but it cools the cab down now at least. On another note.. I'd stay away from GDP replacement hoses and the four seasons...

New AC pressure hoses... round canisters?

Yeah.. they didn't fit very well either. Next time, I'll go with custom hoses or finding some OEM replacements.
