Probably original flywheel falling apart. Drain the fluid and see how nasty/shiny it is. Good luck!

    Upgrades at 300k?

You may still have the dual mass flywheel which has failed or is failing. I would replace the clutch and change the fluid. If you have the coin, you could have the trans rebuilt.. but if its not grinding and the fluid isnt full of metal, I wouldnt worry about it yet.

911 diesel dead in Gilmer Texas need help

Once there is air in the system, its hell on the electrical to get it purged. If you have a 10mm socket, you could pull the glow plugs which will make it crank over really easy to aide in purging the air... other wise heavy jumper cables and a big truck or new batteries depending on where you are.

    Upgrades at 300k?

Is the trans grinding? Making any odd noises? If no, LUK single mass clutch/flywheel conversion and fresh fluid in the trans. Could have the injectors pop tested/cleaned... just keeping general maintenance up is about it for longevity. If you are looking for more power, thats a...

    87 Crew Cab w/ 6 doors

Look into raptor liner. Stuff works GREAT.. holds up very well and can be done at home. Ive got a buddy that did his jeep tub a few years ago and still looks like the day he did it. Cleans up easy and holds up to abuse. You can get the kit on Amazon with the gun to spray it.. its also...

I'm happy with how its turning out... Still have a lot of clean up... but thats ok. Went and picked up my aux. tank. Not bad for $210 including fuel cost... Need to clean it up, add some mounting points, and paint it. It'll work great I think. Going to either plumb it...

Well I laid some paint today... Got started early and started rolling the first coat on... Quickly noticed that the color was nothing like it was supposed to be. After getting 2 coats on the whole truck (which the paint laid really well actually... no thinning.. just a good foam...

help tried to start it to smoke by turbo

You can get return line kits about anywhere... Typ4's kit is just a nice one. You can get them from a parts store, R&D, etc..etc..etc.. Pretty easy to install.. just be sure to grease the o-rings/caps to prevent damage when you snap them in place. When you install the new caps, they will...

    '90 F350 Crewcab 4x4 "BFTD" Project..

All is well so far... I noticed something the other day and forgot to ask about it... I went to check the coolant level after the truck had been sitting for 3 days and when I popped the cap loose, I took a coolant bath. The cooling system was still under pressure after 3 days of not...

    What brand replacement motor mounts?

Hey guys.. Have a junk motor mount I need to replace soon. I've had bad luck with anchor mounts in my old 240d Benz but wasn't sure if they were worth a damn for the 7.3? If no, what brands are trusted? Reason for replacement is I went to test a trans repair... Rolled out of the...

    IP & Fuel Delivery

Got me stumped. I'm curious if it's a weak lift pump or plugged filter... Is the LP original? If so, it's cheap and fairly easy to swap... I'd consider it even if it wasn't the issue if it's original to the truck.

    '90 F350 Crewcab 4x4 "BFTD" Project..

Well, my theory is a mixture of the worn out cv on the front driveshaft and the kids that owned it before me, pull starting it in 4 low all the time. I also discovered that the motor mount on the driver's side is apparently shot so that doesn't help matters either.. But considering all of the...

help tried to start it to smoke by turbo

Yes. Crank the engine over a few times then jump out and press the valve on the filter head. If you don't get fuel, you've got air in the system which is why its a PITA to start. By fix the returns... I mean send a message to Typ4 on here and order a return kit from him. That kit comes...

help tried to start it to smoke by turbo

You have air intrusion. Crank it over for a few seconds then hit the filter purge.. Most likely, you'll get a hiss of air. Fix the returns if you haven't already.. Then get some clear tubing on the supply side such as between the hard fuel line and lift pump. I'd bet you'll see air bubbles.

Water/Air Intercooler Installed and true CAI (feel free to laugh at it)

I wonder if you could extend that filter housing to point towards the front of the truck for a "ram air" effect? Looks good though... I would be concerned with the size of the filter housing vs the filter and the space for air to move... may work.. may not. Someone smarter then I can...

Well... if it will pull past that rpm in a lower gear, its not hitting the gov. as it will kick in close to the same rpm either way.
