Passenger side hub came apart much easier then the driver's side.... so went on and took all the parts into work. Dipped them in our chem tank and cleaned them up.. then oiled everything with wd-40 to prevent flash rust.
Gave the hub a good wire wheeling... then dipped it in the...
Southeastern Military Tires sells the 12 bolts for $20 each.
Jester Fab sells the pressed 8x6.5 centers for $50 each. That's the cheapest I've seen so far.
For tires, eBay. There is a seer on there that sells 80%+ for 400 a set + freight and he's a good guy to deal with... User name...
As you requested... ran out of light last night to get any decent pictures... however here it currently sits. Still need to clean up and "finish" the cutting.. but I love the stance. Something else nice about it is that I can swap back to 31" all terrains for highway / extended driving...
Got a wild hair today and decided to pull the tires/wheels off of another project and mount them on the truck. The tires were showing signs of slight dry rot and it's going to be a bit before the other project is road worthy.. so figured I might as well get some use out of them...
So...
Well... I was going to switch back and forth every few days but apparently I've got some nasty air intrusion on the diesel side of the system. Oil side fires right up every time.
Once I get the air issue sorted, I'll make it a point to run on diesel every other day to help keep things...
Finally plumbed the stack tonight... soo much quieter in the cab now.
4" from the Y pipe back. Still need to get proper hangers on it all.. maybe tomorrow. Now just need time to install that 093 "muffler" and it'll be good to go exhaust wise... Lol
Gotcha. What I'm saying is there shouldnt be a drop there because the clearance between the turbo shaft and the bearing is tighter then .125" so once under pressure, the restriction will always be the charger and everything prior will equalize.
His is "T"d at the back of the block... 1/4" oil feed goes up... mechanical gauge goes to the side. Factory gauge sender is in the turbo oil block.
However, his is an NA block with 1/8" npt port on the block... steps up to 1/4" to a 1/4" T... 1/4" feed... so if there was a chance...
I would take pressure readings from the top/rear of the block... highest point last to receive pressure/flow. If you are getting good pressure at this point, you know everything else is as well.
As far as turbo oiling goes... the restriction there will be the bearing tolerance. That...
This is true. Ive been tossing around the idea of a partial solar system as well... a few 200-300 watt panels and a small battery bank for lighting, etc...
This forum needs a preparedness section... lol
I'd like to set it up as an emergency genset that could be used full time if the need arises. I suppose I could do some searching on ebay for a nicer built belt driven unit... The price is just really tempting...
I also have room under the hood of my 240d to mount a single gen. head... so...
I was considering starting with 1 of those heads... then possibly running a pair of them. I think I could power my house easily on 14kw. Since they are belt driven and only take 16hp to run... in theory, you could just keep expanding as long as the engine has the power to turn them.
A...
Mine runs 18-22psi hot idle... 40 or so hot running down the road. 45 cold idle... 60+ cold running down the road.
I'd say you've got a stuck bypass as you suggested. Did it just happen all of a sudden like?
I haven't thought about looking into used industrial apps... We have a local discount tool supplier (Harbor Freight) that sells 7200 watt continuous belt driven heads for $299... with their 20% off coupons, $230. I was leaning towards powering 1 or 2 of them with the OM615 I have in my...
I'm planning on doing the same thing (wmo genset) with either this spare IDI I have that needs rings or the engine from my 240d that the body is rotting away around the powertrain.
They offer quite a few belt driven options... if I went with the IDI, I could get an SAE bellhousing and...
I bumped the timing 1/8" on my 4bt (ve pump)... and it did prolong the effects of coking a bit... but didn't eliminate the issue all together.
I ran injector line heaters on my 240d along with a 20 plate heat exchanger and a looped return and it ran good as long as I would purge the system...
I had huge issues with coking on my 4bt with wmo... even with water meth. I was single tanking at the time and had a 2 mile drive to work so engine temp wouldn't ever come up.
I since went to a dual tank system but haven't had time to finish plumbing so its been on a D2 only diet for a...
Hey guys...
Well warm weather is here and I'm finally getting most of the bugs sorted out on the 350 so I decided to give it a go for W80.
The current setup on the truck is...
54 gallon aux. bed tank... Tank gets HOT sitting in the sun. Works out nicely..
Gravity fed via 1/2"...
I think (and hope) that I fixed my brake light issue finally. I had rewired the rear of the truck due to janky bs... Still had a slight issue where at random, the brake lights would go out unless I was firm on the pedal. If I lightly touched the pedal to just slow slightly in traffic or...
Yup... alignment shop can shim it if necessary. I would take it to a GOOD alignment shop and not only will they align it, they will check everything over before they do and let you know if something needs to be addressed.
If you had it aligned before, I'd venture to say you have a ball...
