Ok so my joy of final installing the turbo today was cut short when I realized you can't get the intake bolts out once the turbo is perched above it. I plan on making a relocation bracket or just buying R&D's bracket as I feel $30 is fair. So, I can just buy a new 6.9 controller and use the...
Hello all. I'm splitting hairs here at this point but is there any protective benefit of clear coating the engine specifically the exhaust? The exhaust is black VHT 1300° and the same company makes a clear coat for it. I don't think it would be wise to clear the dt360 blue because God only knows...
Woah. I never heard of any of that. Correct me if im wrong but are those holes AROUND the CDR hole? If so wouldn't that allow water and other foreign matter inside the engine? I understand the holes in the bottom, but around it? Wouldn't the oil drain out the back of the valley pan through the...
LOL! Never heard of the 90/90 rule, but I know exactly what you mean. Kinda feared that. About the ZF-5 removal, just unbolt and pull apart? I've never played with a transmission that had a bell housing cast right into the gear box. Thanks
Hello everyone. After two years the day is approaching! Just wondering what do's and don'ts there are about swapping engines from NA to turbocharged. I read I need to move the vacuum tree on the firewall elsewhere due to the turbo being in that area of real estate. (89 f350 7.3 zf5 currently...
Complete 6.9 IDI glow plug wiring harness. Clips missing on driver side front two cylinders. Besides that looks good. I was going to hack this up for my 6.9 to convert it to the 7.3 system but I feel better starting with fresh and new wire. Make offer.

I was offered a intercooler from my buddy's 85 Chevy turbo LS engine swap project. IC is too big for him, he can't make it fit with the hood latch. It's 31" long ( pipe to pipe ) 3" thick, and 12" tall. Would that be a acceptable/efficient size for my 6.9 with a 093 ATS with a Wicked Wheel II...
No. Approximately 160,000 on the bottom end. Engine came from a original owner farmer that passed away. When I pulled it apart the lifter/pushrod area under the valley pan was immaculate.
Heads were rebuild by a very reputable shop by a 40+ yr vet that started there in his 20's. He's also a...
Just some pics of the 6.9 I've been trying to build for over 2 years now lol. Turbo up pipe held on by one stud with the turbo just sitting on top. Didn't wanna do it... Felt I, owed it to the engine. ( ever see Caddyshack anyone? ) I needed to see it for a little moral "boost". ( see what I did...
Thank you for your reply. But wouldn't the factory housing already be a choke point that we are trying to alleviate? Or is the bigger problem the down pipe?

Hey everyone. What would you do here? Get a 3.5" v flange and go OVER the 3 3/8" O.D of the turbo housing; (on the left) then get 3" to 3.5" adapter to bump up the down pipe ( on the right ) to 3.5 and then weld the other side of the v flange to it
OR
Get a 3" v flange and go OVER the down...
Does anyone know if the FelPro PN 16256 Sleeve will work with the seal I have in the pictures? The seal is out of the Felpro BS 40011 rear main seal set.
Hello all. About to install my rear main on the 6.9 but I'm having second thoughts on this new seal. To be blunt it looks tragically chicken**** compared to the factory original. Seems thin, hard, and it doesn't have a spring around it. Also, where does this big washer go? Here are some pics...
Awesome block#! I've looked for two years to find one that high with all the updates. Unfortunately I settled for a running 85 with the thicker block but still pressed on cooling jets. I simply swapped in 7.3 rockers.

Nah, I'll go for the drill and tap. I've been welding since 04 but never played with cast. My first rodeo will come soon enough when I install a v clamp around the 093 ats exhaust outlet housing. Luckily the previous owner already upgraded to the true 3" but that slip joint just don't get me...
Didn't even think of the pyro. How's that work? Is it a coupler welded on the manifold or do you drill and tap then screw in a receiver? Beautiful job on those parts.
