Thank you both. I just found out today I was given incorrect information. The cab and chassis had a optional 22 gallon tank. For whatever reason, the guy thought they were 10 1/4” wide the entire way. Incorrect. They are all more narrow towards the rear of the cab but widen to I believe 12 1/2...
Hello all. The side mount fuel tank on my 89f350 cab and chassis is leaking under the support straps and is shot. I cannot find it anywhere. Has anyone run into this problem and found a supplier or a solution to this? The tank is skinnier than the “pick up” version and all I keep hearing is...
Awesome! Thank you thank you thank you! That's exactly what I was looking for. If I was to purchase a aftermarket transmission with all the upgrades you just listed, what brand would it be?

Cavitation scared me with 7.3's 6.9 is waaaay more beefy in the cylinder wall thickness department. If I had to do it again I would have just gone 7.3 because of the thicker head bolts/studs. I'm still happy with with decision however. It should outlast the truck. From what I have read and...
Finished my plow and salter controller bracket. The seat in my truck I believe is out of a OBS generation. There is two door striker looking pins that stick out of the seat in the center that the cup/change holder hooks on to. I made this menagerie that bolts to gee cup holder. The tall part...
Ok everyone as the title states I'm wondering about the general consensus of the lifespan of a stock E4OD behind my 6.9 I'm building and a combined weight of 18'400lbs. Never owned/operated a E4OD and I know nothing about them. Here's what's up...
6.9: head studs, stage 1 R&D cam and injectors...
Well I got the newer pump on yesterday and got it properly timed yesterday afternoon. Runs better than it ever has, no more bucking and it really has get up and go. Unfortunately, it did not start this morning. 12 second glow plug burn timed with a stopwatch then I immediately turned the key. 4...
So was I! Yes I have met quite a free people over time in positions that had no idea what the heck they were talking about. Sad.

Oh yeah I forgot to ask... The return fitting on the new pump is pointed at 12 o' clock. The old pump was at 2-2:30ish. I either need to make a longer hose to reach the fitting or just turn the fitting to the right a bit. Is the orientation of the fitting critical to proper fluid flow or air...
Good to know. I was wondering, but didn't feel lucky enough to purposely try and get it to jump a tooth just to see if it was possible. Really good to know.

No, no compression test.
When I installed the current Injection pump to replace the factory one that wouldn't start when hot, I followed everyone's directions perfectly. Did not touch the gear housing, just loosened the nuts on the studs and removed the 3 5/16th bolts. I marked the gear in 3...
Ok everyone, today I got the spider ( injection pump and injector line assembly ) off of the donor truck with the bad frame and 83,000 mile baby engine. Just for s**ts and giggles I tried to start it one more time before ripping it apart. 12 second burn on the glow plugs and it fired right up...
Awesome thanks for the quick replies. When I install the new pump should I line up the marks and try and start it, or do the "dimes width" to the left of the line? I will get it properly timed in a timely manner.

I want to swap the injection pump from that new dump truck I bought with the rotted frame to my good 89 f350 dump.
1. The good pump is on a automatic truck and I believe it's called a FIPL on the side of it. Any reason that can't just sit on engine with a manual behind it?
2. The good pump...
WOW. You're energetic! Nice. I had a few ideas, but I got so disgusted I just walked away from the project for months. I found a ATS 093 kit that I bartered a 2wd cummins Getrag tranny for, then sold the non wastegate Banks.

If you made it work, kudos. All I know is it was waaaaaaaay off for me. I would have had to make a spacer to put between the pedestal mount and the cylinder head to kick out the pipe opening to get the uppipe to hook to it.

Unfortunately. I had a zf5 shell bolted to the back of a 6.9 and the pedestal bolted on and there is no way the up pipe fits on. If memory serves me correct the pedestal is aimed down so hard it would basically crash into the bell housing if was longer. With the up pipe resting on the bell...
Automatic the up-pipe runs up driver side. Manual the up-pipe runs up passenger side. The pedestals are different too. I found out the hard way.

No no, I just don't want to deal with my 30 year old brittle factory wiring harness. I'm starting over. The relocation bracket works with any two intake manifold bolts of your choosing, as long as there are no obstacles or components in the way. If you are adding a turbo and need to move the...
