Motorcraft fan clutches from rock auto

The 6.4L fan clutch is standard rotation just like the idi is, I made an adapter bushing so it threads on and the idi fan blade bolts right up, simple 12v and ground and the fan turns on whenever you want, draws around 2-4Amp (temperature dependent). At 2k rpm you hear it roar and up around 3k +...

No power to IP or glowplugs

On the engine bay side, the black connector on the passenger side of the engine has 2 fusable links, one feeds the fuel heater and the other feeds everything else, I would start there and see if one of them is burnt out.

Air conditioner and turn signal issue

That tube is there to drain any water that may get sucked up into the air filter housing during heavy rain or off roading.

Air conditioner and turn signal issue

That’s not uncommon for them to fall apart, in your pic, it looks like the left row of pins have been getting hot, is that just the angle of the picture? If they are toasty I would change the plug also so your not changing switches every year.

    Cheap Ebay selector valve?

Ford hasn’t changed this valve since the 80’s and is still using it (with updated part number) to this day, 6C3Z9189A is the new part number with improved design.

    Bad PSOM Confirmation

If you loose the psom you loose the speed signal to the pcm(or TECA, the trans computer) and cruise control, the abs reads right off of the vss sensor, your vss is fine, leave it alone your chasing the wrong rabbit. The abs and psom are completely separate except they share the vss, one dieing...

    Where is my voltage regulator????

I bought a parts truck and it had a 2G alt on it, looked factory, not sure if someone swapped it out or not but if your alt looks like the one below then the regulator is on the back of it.

Air conditioner and turn signal issue

Pretty easy to change, remove the headlight knob, wiper knob and pop the trim piece off, remove one screw and pop the other trim piece off, look under the dash and you will see two 9/16” head bolts holding the column to the dash, remove those and the steering column will drop down and you will...

Air conditioner and turn signal issue

It’s the electrical ignition switch that goes bad, the terminals in them can be worn away, springs get week or the famous pot metal case breaking and the switch litteraly falls apart. The wiggling of the key cylinder sometimes can make the switch work and is an easy way to check for bad a bad...

    Rebuilt engine issuses

I honestly don’t know, I’ve never had a vechile with good power to know what I have now, it’s definitely no 6.7 Powerstroke haha but it seems to move it’s 7000# ass pretty easy. I’ll take a promising guess of around 150 hp at the wheels and I’ll talk to a guy I know that has a dyno that can load...

    Rebuilt engine issuses

Tell me about it! I don’t know how many times I thought of blowing it up or running thermite through the block in frustration, it took a long time but that’s mostly because I don’t have a place that I can do major work like pulling an engine. Now I need to dyno it and start looking at go fast parts!

    Rebuilt engine issuses

Well I think I can finally put this one to rest, everything seems to be working now after swapping to a stock crank, no more vibration at 1000-1200 and 2000 rpm. This has been a long and stressful 5 years for the first engine I ever got rebuilt, just to recap quickly, first pull of the engine...

    Super Duty axle swap Questions

01 will be a Dana 50, in 02 ford switch to the Dana 60. Don’t expect earth shattering performance going from 3.55 to 3.73 it’s such a small change expect maybe 200rpm increase in each gear. Make sure to check out the tracbar bracket on the axle, they like to crack or break off on the 99-04 axles.

    What's this connector for?

That’s not the obd port, that’s for the door chime, the obd port is under the by by the drivers side hood hinge.

    Super Duty axle swap Questions

@Mammoth73 I used the stock spring buckets, radius arm brackets, steering box and tracbar (bent it slightly more), the only thing I had to buy was new shocks as the ones I got with the axle were toast, new tracbar bracket which apparently an 08 stock one will work, new steering stabilizer as the...

    Super Duty axle swap Questions

I did mine with 06 axles and if I were to do it again I would use 2013 axles and do what my brother did and get a rolling chassis. https://www.oilburners.net/threads/project-crewcab.79692/ And here’s my brothers https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1261619-1989-f250-project-8.html go to post 319

    Super Duty axle swap Questions

If you really truly want an upgrade in all ways find a 2013 or newer set of axles from an SD, way bigger brakes 14.3” vs 12.56”, big ball joints, 1480 axle joints vs 1410, huge unit bearings, factory selectable locker in the rear, rear disk brakes, coil spring front suspension, tighter turning...

Why is my 3G alternator putting out 28 volts??? - SOLVED!!

Glad you got it working again. Did your 175A fuse just break from vibration or did it fatigue fail from being too small amperage? An overload will break a fuse, a short will obliterate the fuse and have blackening around it. When you did your test and hooked up the yellow wire to the back of...

Why is my 3G alternator putting out 28 volts??? - SOLVED!!

On newer trucks Ford put the yellow wire on a 20 gauge fusible link to the starter relay. Please make sure that the yellow wire has some sort of fuse on it, 20A should be more then enough.

Why is my 3G alternator putting out 28 volts??? - SOLVED!!

That happens when the yellow wire doesn’t sense the alternator output (it’s on the wrong side of the fuse) this is why ford tied the yellow wire and charge wire together BEFORE the fusible link so if the link ever went bad the alternator would turn off (no power to the yellow wire). The yellow...

    tick tick tick!!! S.O.B.

Only one cylinder in the pair will be under compression, the other one will be on the exhaust stroke. As for load, it would be way less when stopping as there is no ignition on the last compression stroke, now on start up I could see a high load as the fist ignition pulse is going to try and...
