I am a Radiator shop! I can recore it better than the oiginal but my cost on a core is $700! That is why I put the $120 champion in it. But I am getting tired of swapping them out.
Wife bought a toyhauler tonight. Guy said it was pretty heavy.
I thought it would be no problem for the IDI. I was wrong!
Truck was stable but geez it takes a long time to get up to speed. Any hill had me down to 35 mph.
Taking off from a red light on a hill required 4lo then a shift back to...
Non chlorinated brackcleaner is a great flush solvent. You want 3.5oz of oil per pound of R134a. Then add 1 more oz of oil. It does not matter where you put the oil as it will get moved around as soon as refrigerant is added.
Better to slightly over oil than under oil. Too much oil will...

My cost on a core is $675 though. GULP!

I got tired of flooded batteries and them corroding the terminals. Went with AGM batteries and never looked back. Yes they cost more but they are worth it.
Napa's rebuilt starters and alternators are pure garbage. A guaranteed comeback. They ship the cores to china to be rebuilt. Most others ship to mexico and occasionally usa( both with global components).
At least autozone gives you a roadside guarantee of their part fails.
IMO the only thing...
