The fluid was only a few thousand miles old, but it was extremely clean without any trace of metal in it. Even the fluid i drained from it when I first bought truck a few thousand ago wasn't very dirty and didn't have metal in it either
That's what I thought it would be and what I experienced with the previous transmission i worked on. However that previous transmission the input shaft would move axially, this transmission the shaft does not move at all.
Is there a way to inspect a zf5 without disassembling it? I dropped it since it was making lots of noise. It would whine and growl at idle with the clutch pedal released. Sound would go away when clutch pressed in. Now that its out it clearly has a bad clutch release bearing. What's not clear...
Ive got clear vinyl tubing between the facet and filter and on the supply line to the facet. I dont see any bubbles. Only after the truck has sat for little while but once its running they are gone. I am running a higher percentage of wmo than you are. I probably will have to go a higher...
Installed the facet 40223 9-11 psi pump on my truck. I have to say I'm disappointed with its performance. I find that it cannot pump enough when running on wmo. Im running a blend of about 85% wmo and the rest diesel. Under moderate to heavy acceleration the fuel filter light comes on. Even on...
I already run a blend of wmo in my rear tank and diesel in my front tank. My dad thought that I could use vegetable oil and proceeded to collect about 3 gallons from his friends neighbor. Can I add it to either the diesel or wmo tank? Obviously I would filter it first and stuff, but I'm...
Yeah looking back i should have made it clear that I was also talking about the temperature switch for the fast idle system. I often find myself thinking faster than I can type and not realizing I didn't type what I thought I did.
Ok so I was specifically talking about the coolant overheat switch and the coolant temperature switch for the cold fast idle solenoid and cold timing advance. The one on the front driver side cylinder head right above the exhaust manifold for the overheat switch. And the one in front of the...
A few days ago I lightly pressure washed my engine bay. Held the wand at least a foot away except right by the fuel filter and number 1 injector to clean out some fuel/oil that accumulated there. Since then I've had some electrical issues. Both the coolant overheat switch and the coolant...
Ok so I figured it out. Long story short the fuel filter had actually gotten clogged. So, in case anyone is looking for it in the future; even if you have a good fuel pressure reading you can still get the fuel filter light coming on if your filter becomes clogged.
Now it depends on where you...
Now its coming on under really any kind of throttle. At first when I started driving it today it would only come on around 2100 rpm and now its on at pretty much anything above idle. Im going to change the filter just to rule it out, even though I don't think its the problem.
Just installed a facet duralift 40223, the 9-11 psi pump with a weatherpack connector. Now my fuel filter light is coming on under heavy acceleration. Before it never came on with the mechanical pump. I did read in the other forum threads that that light means a vacuum is being pulled on the...
Thanks for the input guys. I ended up just waiting for the block off plate. If I get another truck in the future I won't think twice about leaving the mechanical pump on temporarily if I have to. Sounds like its not a big deal based on several of your guys experiences.
Im installing a facet duralift pump in my 7.3. My question is can the mechanical fuel pump be left on unplumbed temporarily? Without fuel running through it to keep temperature down could the diaphragm overheat and fail puking engine oil out the side? Id really rather not find out while driving...
