Hauled my escape home today after it died on the side of the road. Had to have the wife run me home so I could half unload the firewood from the truck. I had wet maple stacked to the roof, I didn't really want to hook the trailer up with the truck sitting on the bump stops already :D

Now to find out whats wrong with my escape :backoff

And now I'm trying to figure out how the tilt steering column, from a 94 Clubwagon with SRS and cruise...will connect to my 93 SuperDuke with none of that stuff.

Anyone wanna automatic shift tube...from the afore-mentioned 94 column? PM me? Mine's a Zf...no needy.

I found out that I hate that Murphy and his law! I was going to replace the leaking hub seal on the passenger's rear, but I found metal shavings in the hub. By that time, it was too late to try to find new bearings. Around here, everything is closed by 2:00 and this was after 3:00. Hopefully, I can find some on Monday to put it back together. I'm getting desperate to drive this thing! I was afraid that the bearings would be bad when I found that there was in and out play in the hub. I guess that I must have forgotten to torque the nut down the last time I did this. I did it quick after work and probably got in a hurry because I had to drive about 200 miles to go to a funeral the next morning.

These are cool old tractors. Pretty simple and every nut bolt and screw is available. If you're goal is to repair and use, my advice is to immediately change to 12 volt system.

As many parts as are missing that's the plan, now's the time. I have an old alternator sitting in the garage anyway. I started a thread in the lounge in case you're interested.

Ran out just now to unload the walkbehind, swap it with the rider and take it to a property so Erica could mow.

Proceeded to drop one ramp and then had to man handle the walkbehind to get it all of the way to the ground. Tore the broken plastic tailgate protector all of the way off (been broken at most of the mounting points for a while, the lower edge caught the deck of the walk behind and ****** it causing the ramp to then drop) loaded the rider and discovered the idiot that parked the truck last night (ummm me) left the headlights on...

Lessons learned? I need brighter headlights if I forgot they were on at dusk, safety cables on tailgate ramps may not be a bad idea, I really need to get all of my tools moved to this house. Charger and cables are 6 miles away.

I’d find a little trailer. Loading mowers in the bed of the truck is a little sketchy when you don’t have a convenient loading dock or hill side to back into. I thought you had a utility trailer? I smell a business expense!

X2 on the trailer! In bed hauling is also difficult to tie-down properly, plus puts tremendous load on tailgate when unloading. Little single axle trailer comes in handy. Flip down ramp for easy loading and plenty of tie down options. Coupla removable sides and you can haul all kinds of things, mulch, grass clippings, leafs, stone sand, building supplies, etc. Biggest problem is finding the trailer when you need it because one of your friends or family has borrowed it!:)

Well, I do have one. It is a 6X12 homebuilt with steel deck. Currently running horrible freight mag mount lights because it needs a rewire. 90% of the time it has debris loaded on it. I don't mind pulling that trailer but the boss is not comfortable driving with it.

We have talked about getting a very small trailer just for the mowers. Currently "we" have 5 yards to take care of. One is subcontracted (PA house) and 3 involve bringing the equipment to them, so that tends to fall in my lap. The New Windsor house should have closed damn near 3 weeks ago but Wells Fargo (buyers mortgage company) has required us to buy KY by the case!-cuss

Storage and parking is the other issue. If I got a 5X8 enclosed, the walkbehind, blower, trimmer etc could stay in it over the winter. Not to mention I should be getting a 24" snowblower this fall from my sister so that will require storage also.

The small open trailers pop up on CL so that may be the way to go. You know me, Maine plates and no inspections! ;)
