OK all, here is the thread to throw your hat in the ring for the 2019 Oilburners Rally, usually held sometime in July. So, make your pitch, it's been almost a month since the 2018 Rally, so I'm sure the bug is starting already....

Post a general location, and an idea of activities and the like in your area. This thread will be open to throw your hat in the ring until Saturday, August 25, 2019. At that time, I will close this thread and post a Rally Voting thread.

Subway and Doc have mentioned the Gatlinburg area, I'll let them post any details.

So here's your chance........

thanks Scott!

well some have seen it but here is our pitch

Since the 18 Oilburner’s rally has come to a close there has been some talk of the next rally for 19.

Since Mike and Rob did such a stellar job setting up events and coordinating some the best weather we have seen in recent rally history Heath and I talked about teaming up for a rally proposal. If someone else would like to step in we are happy to hear it, if not we would like to throw our hats in the ring for 2019. We would be looking to host in the Gatlinburg TN area. This is a beautiful area that is the gateway to the Great Smokey Mountains National Park. They even named a building after me (see picture below).

We would have lots of attractions to visit and like always, relax every evening end enjoy good campfire conversation.

Things to do in the area;

Lots of trails and waterfalls

Ripley’s Believe it or not

Guinness World Record Adventure

Aquarium

Dollywood

Water Park

Gatlinburg space needle

Dinner shows if you want to venture out yourself

Another ******’s Garage

Apple Barn Wine tasting

And my sons personal goal to visit, the Smokey Mountain Knife Company has a shop you can peruse

Lots of options for having some fun, a couple of the campgrounds we are looking at are running in the 40-50 range. Hopefully we can get a group discount like we normally can. We have been down there before and had a great time. Looking forward for a chance to do it again!

Jared you beat me to it. LOL

We both live a considerable distance from Gatlinburg, so we'll need some time sooner rather than later to get there, scout, and finalize the campground. So I'm really really glad to see this posted cause the sooner we can get started (if we get the nod) the better.

i mentioned i would host another rally also.

the area i have chosen is the white mountains of New Hampshire. this is a beautiful area lots of outdoor activities to do such as, hiking trails through the rivers and rocks, lots of scenic driving to do, streams to stop at and hang in to cool down, i can also reserve MT Washington which is an awesome drive.

there is so much more to in the area then i have listed above. by the way the summer temps there are much cooler for people that want a break from the heat.

here are some links to some of the things we can do.

I'll cast my vote. Gatlinburg Tennessee.

Really like both options but when push comes to shove.
