Swapping rear end from drum to disc

Hey guys im usually a ford guy but i have a question as to wether or no i can swap in a 2003 dodge 2500 rear end with disc brakes into my 2000 2500 with drum brakes. Is it possible to just swap rear ends out and then get a set of rear calipers? Any help is appreciated

Not exactly sure... but will touch on a few things I do know.

2000 will be a Dana 70 (auto) or 80 (std). 2003 will be an AAM1150 axle if diesel, and usually 3.73 ratio. Rotor size on the newer axle is about an inch bigger, and will need 17" wheels minimum. You will probably have to address the master cylinder and proportioning valve going to discs.

If its better braking you're after... maybe look at upgrading the front to 3rdgen size (and bigger wheels).

If you are in need of an axle, the 01-02 Dana axle (i.e. w/ discs) still fits 16" wheels. Some people have successfully grafted 16"-wheel-compatible disc brakes from other axles...
