2019 Oilburners Rally- Start thinking about it now!

Me too. The last time Missy and I were at Gatlinburg was 2013. Beautiful place. Lots to do if ya want. Nature stuff (hikes, trails, bears...
), plenty of good places to eat, candy shops, go karts, mini golf, Branson-like shows, children's museum, aquarium, Ripley's weird museum, arcades, haunted houses, zip lines in the mountains..... Or.... just relax at the campground.My biggest hope is there is a big open parking lot there for all these crew cab rigs... or find a campground with a Trolley stop.

well this is the idea we put together sort of written for a vote lol. this is all just preliminary to, we hope to go down and test some areas out to see what works best for everyone.
Since the 18 Oilburner’s rally has come to a close there has been some talk of the next rally for 19.
Since Mike and Rob did such a stellar job setting up events and coordinating some the best weather we have seen in recent rally history Heath and I talked about teaming up for a rally proposal. If someone else would like to step in we are happy to hear it, if not we would like to throw our hats in the ring for 2019. We would be looking to host in the Gatlinburg TN area. This is a beautiful area that is the gateway to the Great Smokey Mountains National Park. They even named a building after me (see picture below).
We would have lots of attractions to visit and like always, relax every evening end enjoy good campfire conversation.
Things to do in the area;
Lots of trails and waterfalls
Ripley’s Believe it or not
Guinness World Record Adventure
Aquarium
Dollywood
Water Park
Gatlinburg space needle
Dinner shows if you want to venture out yourself
Another ******’s Garage
Apple Barn Wine tasting
And my sons personal goal to visit, the Smokey Mountain Knife Company has a shop you can peruse
Lots of options for having some fun, a couple of the campgrounds we are looking at are running in the 40-50 range. Hopefully we can get a group discount like we normally can. We have been down there before and had a great time. Looking forward for a chance to do it again!

Nice job Jared! Thanks for posting something more official and informational than mine. Not sure when, but we'll put our heads (wives) together, and plan a fun scout trip (keeping fingers crossed - kids at grand parents).
I'm excited for this to be a rally - even if its not next summer.

I posted on the Facebook page but will throw it out here also. I am looking at hosting a western rally for those of us on Here that live out west. It has never been done before so I want to make sure that when I commit that I have the perfect place.

I know there are a lot of IDI guys in the AR, MO, Ok, and TX area. I would of gone to the 2018 rally but it was too far for me. I’d like to see one over this way so I can finally meet the people I’ve read about for years.
