Is there a Racor or Donaldson filter that would fit in approximately the same location as the stock turbo air box? Of course I'm looking for something that has a increased CFM rating over the stock unit. I'd like to use ram air from a modified version of the stock tube or a home built Hypermax style cowl induction. I was looking at the Donaldson and Racor websites and nothing jumped out at me...

Are you looking for a cylinder type filter? If so just punch in the dimensions you want into the Donaldson website and get what you need that way, but if you’re placing the filter on top the engine you’ll be pulling some really hot air, the further from the engine and radiator you can get the filter the better

I'm assuming and the stock ATS housing. Do you notice any restriction on The Tell-Tale? With the stock Factory filter I have in now, it sucks The Tell-Tale a good way down... do you think that a well-oiled K&N is enough?
yes, stock housing. i took off the restriction gauge ages ago....."what you don't know can't hurt ya" :O

I believe "filter minder" should be what you want to look for. "Air filter restriction gauge" should work too.

I've considered a 6.0 filter setup but only if I find one in the junkyard. They're pricy.

Thanks! Do you mean stock or an aftermarket setup?

I'd have to re-research it again to be sure, but I'm pretty sure the stock setup on the 6.0 was a pretty decent long life filter setup. It's pricy to get the filter, but they're supposed to be good for like 100,000mi or something like that. They're similar to a heavier duty truck air filter and do a good job filtering and will hold a lot of dirt before becoming a restriction. Ford's maintenance schedule says "monitor air filter gauge and replace as necessary".

This is why I'd want to find one in a scrapyard. Not exactly cheap.

Obviously the stock powercore filter. Lol
Nothing will beat the filtration.
Same setup on the 6.4 as well.
Can also get a "severe duty/AIS" for the 7.3, same filtering.

Have you ever seen a 6.0 or 7.3psd air box set up on a idi?
