Occasionally I'd like to use the winch on my truck to load (typically) a non-running vehicle onto a flatbed trailer. If I could attach the trailer at/to/under the front bumper of my truck to hold it steady while winching whatever onto said trailer using my truck's front-mounted winch, that would make my life a lot easier. As it is, I am using a hand winch to drag my non-running antique vehicles up onto the trailer and that is a lot of work (also pretty ridiculous considering my F250 has this electric winch).

Would you guys have any suggestions for a basic front-mount hitch sufficient to steady a 6,000 lb GVW "utility" trailer for loading? I wouldn't be towing the trailer from the front of the truck, just trying to hold the trailer steady long enough to winch a vehicle up on to it.

Thank you.

Personally, I wouldn't do that.
You wont really find any front receiver hitches anymore. Would need to build one, or use one of the rsk kit ones.
I would just find a cheap winch to mount on the trailer.

I made one for this truck. Winch mounted to a trailer hitch. When winch was removed, the hole was covered by license plate.

Exactly.

I wouldn't call that a winch bumper. That's a stock bumper with the winch added on top. And some extra side pieces.

I have a put a receiver on the front of mine and use my winch to load stuff... don' t know what I would do without it. Mine is completely homemade.

i had one of those setups. a little on the light duty side. but if that is all you got, use with caution when putting the reciever plate underneath.
also, if I can ask a favor, can you snap some pics of the winch mounting brackets behind the bumper? the new owner of the bracket can't figure out how to mount it and my old age memory has caught up with me.
