I decided to bring out the Superduty tonight and replace the rear brake lines. Come to find out the hoses and lines that go across the rear axle are one piece units from the factory. Napa has the left one as a one piece unit but the right one comes as a hose with a banjo bolt connection on one side and a 3/8 female flare fitting on the other. No big deal.
Well, come to find out, both Napa and Advanced auto assemble the left rear hose assembly INCORRECTLY with a 7/16 flare nut instead of a 3/8 flare nut that's necessary to attach it to the block on the end of the center drop hose. Ok, I will buy another right side hose and make the short line for the left side.
Everything's going well, got both lines bent and flared with the proper sized flare nuts on the end. Go to install them and the block for the banjo bolt connection is too small to fit in the recess on the rear caliper. 10pm at night, out comes the porta-band to make everything fit.
Seriously? There's a ton of these trucks on the road still. Can't get something as simple as brake hoses right? Oh well, ready to be bled on another day.

Welcome to the world where the auto parts guys can't look anything up in a book because it's not as easy as poking on a keyboard!
