Hey all,

I thought my fleabay throttle cable was binding up on me. I went out to lubricate it and after looking around it turns out there are two plastic bushings on the pedal pivot that are the actual culprit. Has anyone ever changed these out? I'm sure it wouldn't be hard except that the shaft is welded to washers on both ends. Nothing some grinder and welder time couldn't remedy. If I was to replace them I'd likely use bronze instead.

I'm sure it'd be easier to just swap a pedal in from another truck, but I was wondering if anyone has tried fixing it instead?

I'm not sure what I'll do yet. Of course I threw out a bricknose accelerator pedal two months ago.....

Finding a good used one may prove difficult.
I have had good luck with bronze stock and shims or brass stock eitne turned down to suit the needs
A plus is you bet to polish shaft.

Yeah I kinda figured if I found a used one it'd be on it's last legs anyway. Methinks I'll get a used one simply to fix it and then install it so the truck isn't down if I screw it up.

As far as polishing goes, I'd me more excited to get some paint on it. She's got a decent amount of surface rust and it's always nice to have clean shiny parts lol!
