That's when you lower the compression(lower compression = larger compressed volume), then run both!
That being said, doing that is for dyno use only - it won't start well and will smoke at idle with the lower compression.

I’ve run nitrous on my idi. Worked well, no issues just a really expensive power adder if you’re using it on the street

Replace fuel lines for clear lines from filter to IP, and from IP to the first injector so u can see what's happening with ur fuel. U can easily see if u have air in the lines.

I would not recommend trying a clear line from the IP to an injector... pressure climbs to 1800 psi just to open the injector, and probably much higher during the injection phase. That would be a hellacious piece of vinyl tubing...

good advice. When I first read that comment, i just assumed he was talking about the inlet fuel hose, but if he was talking about the injector line.... that would be dangerous, and ultimately, not useful because the injector lines are carefully measured to be exactly equal, to preserve timing. A clear line (assuming it could even survive the pressure) would likely not be the proper length and wouldn't inject into the cylinder at the proper time.

Just a can of starting fluid if it chatters then you will know if you have compression! a little spray goes a long way on a 6.9 or 7.3l. Does not matter if you use glow plugs or not.

SHHHH! Some of us are secretly conducting an experiment to see just how far internal engine parts will fly when propelled by ether.
Eh... I've tried it on a recalcitrant old JY motor with a blown headgasket. Best thing I got to happen was the valley pan became more of a "hill" pan, and conformed quite neatly to the under side of the intake manifold and injection pump. Almost singed my hair too with the fireball...

That was probably half a can of ether into trying to get it to work, though... Never did end up getting that motor to actually start.
