Hey fellas, been working on clutch options for project jerry, wanted to stay away from a stage 3 single disk because it makes for a real heavy pedal, which for my father is a no go, as he has extensive knee damage from past injuries, but of course has to be able to handle 500 hp and be able to tow 30k combined.

So I started talking to southbend, Ive had good experiences talking to their customer service department, and talked to Greg there about using the psd dual disk kit with a custom flywheel, that became expensive quick as they would only sell me a complete psd kit, even though I would be using a half of the parts, and I didnt like the idea of adapting parts to work for our engines, Id much rather have one made that was meant for an IDI.

So I called around various custom clutch shops and I finally got an answer I liked, ClutchMasters out of Cali is now working on a fully custom dual disk clutch kit for our IDIs, but it will be a simple bolt on kit, no spacers no shims, and works with stock clutch linkage. The street dual disk kit will handle 550hp and 1300tq, while retaining the stock pedal feel. I know theres very few people in this power range, but I figured it would be interesting info to share, especially once I get it here and can post pics of the beaut. If anyone wants one, let me know. The more kits I can have made up front the cheaper it will be for everyone!

Cost effective depends on the size of your wallet I guess, it will be a single mass flywheel of course, but it’s gonna be a bit more pricey than your average Luk kit, if I can get a group buy interested it could be 900-1300 range. The one I ordered by itself was $2100 since it was a one off kit. No link, haven’t even seen picture of it yet, just put the order in yesterday.

So will you be able to get just the clutch disc and pressure plate as an upgrade? I already have a SMF and don't really need to spend that much, but it would be a nice to have an upgrade option like this. I'll never have that much power and, actually, my Luk kit is now in it's third vehicle. Disc and all (two trucks with a Bronco in between).

Flywheel is custom to take up the space of the twin disk so the trans doesn’t have to be spaced back, so it would need to be purchased as a kit

Well that's ok. I'm obviously not all that ******* clutches anyway. Of course if I ever got one to use as a tow rig....

Yeah most people won’t be in this power range, but even in the 250-350 hp range, this would be a clutch for the lifetime of your truck, I’m pretty excited. Dual 13” clutches are gonna last a long time.

They do GREAT work. I've used them before, And my dad has used to a gazillion times for his rig builds.
