The closer you get to Pebble Beach.....
You know the story
No studios under 2 grand
Where a car ran into a McDonald’s and there considering NOT rebuilding
Another closed then turned into a Starbucks, that one was next th the local public high school.
Strange but true

Regardless it’s my home since 67

Jeff
and if I could find a way to make a decent living down there year round, I'd be there too. :D

Overdrive?

Jeff

Common down, plenty of fog at least
i fled Pacifica in 1975 thanks to the fog :(
I do have a USG OD that goes between the trans and transfer case that needs to be looked at but might be up for sale. I also have a Mitchell Od that I might sell too. stay tuned.
in the meantime, I'm putting together numbers for you for a quote on the tow and rebuild. :D

Throttle valve rod Should be installed. It is not just for Kick down, It tells the transmission how hard the engine is working via the connection between the throttle and a Valve in the transmission. Does the same thing a TPS switch does with Computer setups. If TPS is not adjusted right the transmission is not happy. Same theory just done mechanically instead of electronically.

It did shift early IMHO

Regarding OD, if it is appropriate for the gear ratio of the rear end?
355 not so important
411 more important
Yes?

Ok I now have the front drive line and the spare/possibly correct transfer case in the truck.
I suspect the transfer case was from the 460 that came in the truck originally.
Irriguardless I do not need 2.

I’m ready,

Jeff

BB gasser and diesel TC's are the same.
make sure you have the same gear ratio's front/rear door tag is good, diff tag is golden. if you have problems ID'ing the diff tag, take a pic and post them here.
i'll have numbers for you shortly.

Did some digging and I knew I wasn’t crazy, looks like with some serious pump mods a port can be added to give hydraulic pressure to create the assist for the tc to lockup, it’s similar how some drag guys are getting lockup in th400, but it requires a lot of billet parts and cnc work on the existing pump so definitely not worth the effort in an idi, probably be a $7000 trans by the time it was done

I've seen a few YouTube videos on billet parts on gassers n a few race diesels but what really is the benefits besides a more bullet pripr motor n would that require a turbo or can a n/a use it as well I'm just thinking a pure idi or idi turbo experiment rig
