I’m betting that was the cause. Do you have any options for charging the batteries back up where you are at? To prime the engine faster take the glow plugs out and spin the engine over until you got fuel at the injectors.
Nothing we tried to jump it with would crank fast enough. Used another insurance tow to get to another hotel, not a shady motel6 luckily tonight. Going to pull batteries first thing in the morning and take them to the local oreillys to get charged up. Luckily we were towing our car with us. Thank you everyone for the help with this one. So awesome!
now you have to wonder how the hose got melted and how to avoid repeating that mistake.

Glad you found the air leak. Get the batteries charged and I bet your good to go.
Glad to report we made it to Arizona safe and sound. Got the batteries charged up and the guys at oreillys even warrantied my starter it started to smell burnt so they had my back. Everything worked out great. There was no way I was having it towed in for the last stretch of our journey. Now to mess with my damn turbo oil return hole leak crap!
