haha yeah i have slacking on this a little. i have a truck on my drive on lift now and that is the one my truck needs to be on.

i have been super busy with the money making jobs so the stuff I want to work on gets pushed to the side.

maybe the next update will be a painted core support and some other parts i am looking to buy.

Don't feel bad Elijah.... I could easily punch a hole through the driver's rear corner of my F250's cab.

I was solid when I restored it in 2006. Now it's a cab floor in name only. LOL.

the more i think about it im thinking of just buying two new front fenders. that way i can paint them and the core support, rip the old stuff off and just bolt on new stuff.

have y'all had good luck with re-pop fenders?

Not really, I think mike has all new sheet metal on the front of big red. I always prefer to start with factory sheet metal

i have OE fenders on it now but it will take some time to fix with the rot on them, and i dont have much time.

it is hard to find good OE fenders around my area.

The fenders weren’t too bad. Pass side was better than the drivers side. I have not confirmed yet but I suspect a lot of the problem with the driver side is actually the warped door.

Edit:
I will say that I would not paint them and then fit them. I’d fit them first just in case. Id maybe take them to primer, fit them and then pull and paint which may totally be a waste if the point was just a hot swap.

small update time!! got some lights in, just cab and flood lights.

i bought some extra bulbs for my cab lights and interior gauges. i wanted some really bright bulbs for the black cab lights. i am pretty satisfied with the look.

side by side, one is with the bulb the lights came with and one with the bulbs i bought.

i am pretty happy with how these lights are. not really super bright but not that bad. i mainly chose them because they have a darker look to them and blend in with black better then the chrome backed lights.

IMO, factory body panels are tops! None of the reman stuff I've bought resulted in a nice fit (even with a pro body shop doing the fitting). I'd suggest exhausting all resources for factory parts prior to purchasing aftermarket stuff. Another tip, replace the little self taping screws used to hold fender liner with stainless steel. In fact any body panel attachment fastener you can replace with stainless eliminates corrosion potential which is a constant battle we face in our region (Northeast).

next thing i want to run by y'all.

the trans i just dropped of at the rebuild shop is from a 97 4x4 PSD. i am trying to get a head start and have him strip that one down so i can clean and paint it then take what parts i need from my old trans to build one.

now i was thinking of just putting the whole trans and transfer case in my truck just because i have the parts. then i remembered the speedo is fly by wire....

is there any easy way to make that work in a 91 truck? i have all the parts from the 97, cluster and harness. i dont have much time so if not ill just stick with keeping it 2x4.

The quick answer is to grab a 91 down tcase. It’s got the speedo gear port in the tail housing that I think is the same auto or manual, 2x or 4x but don’t hold me to that.
