Bastardizing a steering shaft?

Yup, turns out the only thing the bullnose/bricknose lower steering shafts have in common with the aeronose lower steering shafts is the rag joint. Nothing else is interchangeable.

I wish I wouldn't have scrapped one a couple months ago. I'm only a couple hours away. That's how it works, keep it for years and not need it until you get rid of it.

Exactly my thought. Gave one away on a steering gear a few months ago because I didn't think I'd need it....

I'm thinking that I'll just get a Borgeson when I have some income again. Sure, there's more play than Bruiser ever had, but it's not terrible. I'm more concerned about the left pull that developed AFTER alignment. Guy never touched the camber bushings and even though it's within spec, the caster is off from side to side.
