Yeah but im not taking the chassis apart. I plan to pressure wash everything this saturday tho. If I get all the crud off i might hit it with some paint tho. I am going to repaint the engine brackets since I have them off for changing out WP and Tstat.
Id like to even touch up the top of engine to after the new VC gaskets and GPs and GPC

Yeah I would just see how it looks after washing it, if the paint doesn’t flake up bad and the frame is clean, maybe just do the outside of the frame rails and the crossmembers

The price is what kills the new trucks for a lot of people, for under 10k well have basically a new truck with this project with a lot of modern amenities and performance. But to each their own.

Cleaned up the cover hardware and painted it to match the rest of the axle

Started stripping the engine bay, pulled a bunch of house electrical out and gonna clean up the factory harness and water proof it. There’s a few melted connectors I need to replace but luckily not hacked up.

Welcome to New York!

On another note, was your back bumper an XLT package thing? I'd like to find one up here with that plastic/rubber trim on it.

Stripped the engine bay down and ready to pull this core support. Pulled all the insulation out and degreased everything. I’d like to paint the engine bay the same as the frame, but this cleaned up pretty nicely. What do y’all think? Clean up the stock paint or go fresh with it? Personally not a fan of white for an enginebay since it shows dirt and grease so much...

Are you going back with insulation??? Most of the white would get covered if you do. Personally I'd leave it white but that's just me, I like to have the brighter color for lighting while working on stuff.

I’m gonna be doing so led lights under the hood that should have that covered, but it’s a good point. Only insulation will be dynomat on the firewall and inside the hood.
