It does "roll coal" pretty good down low, so I don't think the lack of boost is from the IP or too little fuel, just the lack of air. I'm thinking about changing the intake, and I'm not sure what down pipe it has. Probably the squished factory one...

Here's a video of it at near top speed. You can see the boost gauge at the end. It seems healthy to me. What are you thinking? Also, it's on 33" tires, so 75mph is actually almost 80mph.

Notice how much harder it pulls from 2,500 to 3,000...

Well looks like it runs pretty well already, I see what you’re saying with that narrow power band. I bet I can get it spooling earlier in the rpm range, have you checked to make sure that turbo is in good shape with no play?

Checked the turbo today, no play in the shaft that I could tell. However, the air filter was crazy clogged. Looked 5 years old. Changing out the filter really livened up the bottom end. Boost is at 5psi by 1,500 now in 3rd gear or higher. I'm ready for that gear vendors unit!!!

What kind if mileage do you get out of yours at 75mph?

You should be honest with the fellow. I know it is hard for you to understand the concept of honesty Wes... so this is what that looks like.

That gear vendors unit was in a truck that got sent hard enough to rip the gear vendor unit out from its mounting brackets. Clean out, dragging on the ground clunking around wondering if a drive shaft broke. The drive shaft was good and kept turning fine, just the gear vendors wasnt hanging onto anything but some dirt.

It was a blast, and I laughed my head off the whole time! I had never seen an old ass diesel spin through every gear while hoping for some traction like that and it was a great time... Then when we crawled under the truck to see what was wrong I just laughed some more. And that is when we wratchet strapped it back in place and limped it back to the shop. It was a great time but this guy may like to know those details. It may, or may not, change someones mind about buying it.

It could work fine, it could just need bolted back in, but if he bought that part from you he just may end up posting in the Hall of Shame like I did after seeing your workmanship.

I would no doubt be able to tell if the unit went through an ordeal like that, so I'm not worried about it...

I'm trying to get up there the first week of April. What shop should I call to get the drive shaft shortened? The idea would be to get it done in a day...

I understand there is an issue OUTSIDE the forum you have with @Thewespaul. That needs to be kept OUTSIDE the forum. I’ve edited your above post for language. A slip is one thing, but multiple in one post is NOT acceptable.

My apologies, I let my frustration get the best of me and it will not happen again.

I want a vacation! Lol! Little update, I decided to go with 3.54's and 3.55's instead. 1,775 is a little low if I'm ever going to pull something and I don't want to scream at 2,500 down the highway just to pull a trailer, so the 2,160rpm or so that I will get with my tire size and 3.54's is where I want to be. I found a front Dana 50 and rear 10.25 set for under $100 each and will be giving that a go. Thanks for the help and good luck selling that gear vendors unit to the ambulance guy.

Sweet! You scored with those prices, are you gonna swap the whole axles or just the center sections?

Just the ring and pinion. I had I may have to change the carrier for the front going from 4.10 to 3.54, but that was for the Dana 44 version. I guess I'll find out when I crack it open.
