Fuel tank woes

This is exactly why I mentioned about clamping the lines. These have always been a historically expensive valve. Maybe a trip to a walk in and pick wrecking yard may be the easiest choice. you will still need a way to stop the flow of fuel. No matter how you remove the lines... Fuel probably will end up in your arm pits. Gravity plays it tricks on us when we lay under our rigs. BTW this arm pit full of diesel burns plenty...

You guys seem to have the diesels all over the wrecking yards advantage where your at.
In Vegas, your lucky if you see one diesel and it's usually a picked over mess.

i modded a truck to run the "Mulochico fuel tank mod"
he draws off the front, returns to the rear and interconnects from the rear to the front.
i done it in a way where I can undo what has been done. if your FSV is jammed the same direction, it's something to consider.
oh yea, I fixed a broken showerhead while I was in there too.
the first two pics illustrate the "bridge" line from the rear to the front. I still need to cork off the disconnected draw line from the rear and the return line in the front.

he draws off the front, returns to the rear and interconnects from the rear to the front.
i done it in a way where I can undo what has been done. if your FSV is jammed the same direction, it's something to consider.

Like what you did :Thumbs Up. Cleaner, and reversible. Mine will always have the oil valves on the crossover hose (easier to drain if needed but I like your idea better :)). At the present, mine actually pulls from the front but returns to both. I had the front return capped off, but it always seemed to have a leak so I put a "t" in the return and it goes to both. No more leak.

You'll probably need an angle grinder with cutoff wheel to 'notch' a slot in the front two bed bolts, use a piece of metal as a large screwdriver to keep it from spinning. I haven't had luck getting them out otherwise. It's a two person job done like this.

I know you rustbelt guys just weld a rod to the bed bolt head and go to town right??!!!

Or socket and long extension bend over side to side and snap ole rusty nutz clean off.

I just pulled the bed of the crawler for its first time, with a 3\8" ratchet;Poke but it's only an 83.
