if I was a betting man, I'd wager the rear end is from a commercial dually and was grafted onto a pickup frame. why? there is almost no room between the spring packs and the tire.
below pic is of a pickup dually rear.

look at the distance between the U bolt to the backing plate and how the rim edge aligns to the backing plate.

16x6.5 would be SRW wheels. 16x6.5K are DRW, from what little research I've done.

And I've seen plenty of DRW door jamb stickers with 215/85R15 as the stock tire size.

Good eye on the wheelbase; 133" would be a regular cab long bed. And there's no "Incomplete Vehicle" wording on the sticker, so yeah, it probably started life as a mild-mannered pickup.

I stand corrected... Happens a lot according to my wife.. Haven't worked on many dually trucks so I never paid much attention to the door stickers.

I'll have to see if mine has the k. I mean, it was ordered a dually. But it's a C&C, so may not apply.

Welcome to the forum. Nice rig and a steal of a great price. Godd to see it has a better engine than the crack prone early 6.9 engine had. Might be a good idea to add 2 quarts of atf fluid to the fuel.that way you might be able to clean out the fuel system. when these fuel systems sit like yours did some varnish and gum drops out and sticks some parts of the injection pump metering valves. the atf will clean that out. glad you are not using the old water separator because it was a known air leak item. The 7.3 fuel filter head is much easier to work on too. If the top of the filter head is wet its probably the fuel filter heater that we recommend you remove and plug the hole. RTV or threading a pipe plug in the top will solve the leak. RTV works because the pressure is only about 6 lbs. No chance of it blowing out but make sure you clean it well before the rtv. Or use some JB Weld. They both work fine.

4400lb front axle is a stock dana 50 ttb correct? I am thinking like you guys have said, it was originally a regular cab f350 4x4 srw pickup. The dana 50 would be correct for a 1984 f350. So the rearend must have been swapped in place.

Start hunting for the Ford front adapter pieces, and you can get another set of dually style wheels and run them on the front. Then people will stop asking so many questions. Those regular style wheels on the front are a dead giveaway that something is not original.

Franklin2 - what’s this front ford adapter you speak of? I have an srw that was converted, and it drives me bonkers that not all 6 wheels match..

These,

(Thanks Cal)

These bolt onto the standard hub, just like a SWR wheel would, then the dually wheel bolts to the lugs on this adapter, which pushes out the mounting surface for the dually wheel, so the tire is where it belongs in relationship to the bearings. Just like the duals mounted back to back put the load on the rear wheel bearings in the proper location.

If you need more info, I may be able to get some pictures. My 88 started life as an F-250 2wd Regular Cab long bed. It has been converted to a dually with a dually axle, a flatbed and the dually adapters for the front. It would be tomorrow, as I would have to go jack up the truck and pull a wheel......

I have the rear spacers and duallies. No need to get the jack out.

Whats the offset on those front spacers?

You guys are a wealth of information. I very much appreciate the info on which way to go with this project. Any recommendations on gear ratios, etc to get a bit more top end for highway mileage?
