Here is my annoying hair line crack from just turning in defrost in a cold day about a year ago

Looks like a stone chip was the real culprit that started it all. I had a similar crack on mine that stayed that way for months...until I decided to wash the truck LOL

Yeah, the slow rise of heat from defrost couldn't start it on its own.
On real cold days, I've been having this happen. I Could be sworn it was a oddly shaped etch n sketch crack. Lol

I have the toola

I have the experience...replaced about a dozen

If u can get 1 for 2 bills....w gurantee to not leak....yer momey and time ahead IMHO.

WHEN i do it I cut out all the old urethane and wire wheel out the area...then prime and finally install glass.

Soaking my 3 tubes of eruethane in hot water for few hrs helps w dispertion......knowing how to cut the tip and where to apply helps...

Spend the money.....

I'm with riotwarrior. Just had mine replaced for about two bills. They wire brushed and primed the frame. I had some rust from a previous install so that was pretty important. I had already pulled the trim for them and they reinstalled the trim for me with new clips. They guaranteed no leaks if they did it all. Very pleased with the work. Money well spent in my mind

Just had the front windshield replaced on my 6.7 psd for $200 a few days ago. Not worth the hassle of trying to do it yourself for that price imo.

i had Safelite come to my place and put in a new w.s and for 160.00 I was very satisfied. The techs. only concern was if there was rust under the top molding, turned out everything was fine.

Safelite did mine. Did it in my garage. Had a couple rusty spots. Tech cleaned them up. Then I worked on one a little more with his blessing. He primed/sealed those areas and then put the urethane and glass back. For what a windshield costs, it’s not worth it. I think it was less than 200$ and he was there like 3hrs because of the rust spots. No extra charge because of it though. If I were to do it again, I’d probably pull the old glass, clean and paint everything then have it replaced but I was pretty pleased.
