I am curious what everyones thoughts on injectables are?
Propane, nos, water ****, ether lol! (any others?)
I know most people gets scared especially with propane, but in small amounts I know that it can be beneficial.
What are your guys thoughts? and what would/do you guys run, power, reliable, and mpg or a combo of either or all?

I've been curious of these systems too, I heard propane and nos were not supposed to be a great option on our trucks with the compression but light water **** isn't supposed to be so bad. But I don't know any details or too much on how they work

I'd stay away from propane injection. Even in stock trim, our injection pumps can push more than enough fuel.

Nitrous oxide is great because it kicks off oxygen molecules for more air.

Compressed air is awesome because it gets really cold and dense.

Water injection creates steam and has an air charge cooling ability, turns into steam and we know what's in water vapor. H2o.

Methanol is a wood alcohol and gives extra fuel to burn, paired with water it work pretty well

If it was my option to inject something, it would be compressed air or water. Need more cooler air to get these things cleaned up and running with the inline 6 crowd!

If anything, look into adding a newer, more efficient turbocharger or a Lysholm supercharger like a Whipple or Lysholm. Not too much hp demand for the extra air of either option.

I myself have been curious to try a light water/**** setup since I'm still non-intercooled. That being said egts aren't an issue for me yet, but it's still been on my mind.

I’ve done all of the above

Propane I do not like, it increases egts a lot compared to turning your pump up and well it’s a bomb.

Nitrous is great, but man it gets expensive. If you want to buy my old setup you’re welcome to it. I had a lot of fun with it in my na truck but just not liable for a daily. I have a few threads on it

Water **** is your best option, do not separate the two like stated above, keep it in a 50/50 mix. It’s cheap, reliable and safe.

Ether? No just no haha

@kuskoal our injection pumps at stock trim are nowhere near enough, I have a 90cc and that's not even enough. Even all the stock turbos can eat all the fuel a maxed out pump will supply

Darrin @Darrin Tosh has been running propane on Big Ed for a long time, both when it had an IDI and now with the Cummins and has been pleased with the results.

Travis @argve ran water/**** on the Enterprise back in the day (Take a look at his threads). His IDI made a lot of power..... but he did overdo the amount of water/**** (he went through 15 gallons of washer fluid in one weekend at an IDI get together, the truck made it home, barely). When he tore the engine down, he had been injecting enough water/**** he had been hydrolocking all 8 cylinders that all 8 wrist pins were being pushed toward the crown of the piston. That was the last engine in that truck (he went through 3). He bought the Nanny Goat (94 12 valve)..... So it can be beneficial, but there are risks....

part of the problem was the thought process goatboy held. "if a little is good, a helluva lot more will be better" :O
choosing a metering nozzle for the fluid the size of a firehose nozzle, can be a problem. rule of thumb....don't get carried away.

Man, it feels like the enterprise was so long ago.

Well.......

He had the Nanny Goat in 06 when I bought the camper. I think he sold it in 05...... so, it was a long time ago.......

I've actually had my Excursion going on 11 years........

Hell I was still in high school back in 06 lol!
Makes me feel old lol

On the topic a local propane place has a gasser with a propane set up as a fuel alternative, as well as the propane company over has a diesel with a propane set up what he told me.

Wife cousin had a c10 gasser/propane set up worked good but the cousins was a 16 yr old didn't know how to use propane set up n blew motor with no fluids long story short lesson learned he worked a full summer on family farm to pay for used truck n parts.

Any benefits to injectables
