1991 suburban suspension question

I have a 3/4 ton 4x4 burban ( Last year with the solid axle) I was thinking about swapping in 1/2 ton springs for a better ride. Does anyone know if they are a direct swap? Been awhile since I worked on a Chevy. But I think I remember them being practically the same..

they are. and I don't think you'll gain any softness either.
imho the springs are the same. the axles are a little different 6 lug vs. 8 lug.

Cannot answer your question, but I have a 91 v3500 if ya need to compare stuff.
Mine rides like a buckboard.

Do you have 2 leaf or 3 leaf springs? AFAIK, that's the only two ways they came.

There was a dual-shock option for those trucks. Maybe that would help?

It has like 8 in the rear, 2 in the front I believe. But I sold it this morning so I guess it doesn't matter haha. Thanks.
