Kenny I do not recall any idi E4OD trans coming with a pan that had a drain plug but the later powerstrokes had one. Just a note on draining trans fluid without a drain plug in the pan. The pan corners have bolts with longer threads. Those are loosened but left in.As the other bolts are removed eventually the pan will sag and fluid begins to drain over the gasket lip. Its messy but it will get the level low enough to drop the pan completely.

I wanted to make sure I wasn't going crazy, so I just went out with a flashlight and looked under it and it does indeed have a drain plug right in the center. The pan also has a big Ford logo on it.
The PO had this trans installed at Ford about 35k ago. Maybe it was put on with the new trans.

And this is a good thing Kenny.. Nothing more messy than trans fluid dripping everywhere when you try to NOT make a mess changing trans fluid and filter..A member here suggested that I purchase a kiddys pool to "catch" all the trans fluid when I change the atf fluid ... Someday... I sure will have some storage issues with all that fluid..No way will it fit in any drain pan any fake auto parts stores sell.

Gary,

How much total transmission fluid capacity do you have? My 6.0 holds 15 quarts (almost 4 gallons) of engine oil. I have a big yellow drain pan that holds 5 gallows. It has a nice pour spout to empty it also.

This is the drain pan I have:

If it holds more than that, maybe a FUMOTO Valve would help, so you can shut it off while it’s draining.

Those are the same pans I bought for draining my radiator when I changed it. Had to use two of them.
We currently live in a homeowners assasination, so I have to be very careful about working on my truck in the driveway. The next door neighbor was giving me crappy looks when I replaced my radiator a couple weeks ago.

I have the flotool 24 quart one. I like it because it has the covered top. Can put the caps on and stand it up.
They also have a 58 quart. Lol
