I just bought this 92 7.3 F350. It runs well but needs some tlc. I need to replace return lines and have sent a message to typ4. Where is the best place to get rebuilt injectors? New Bosch injectors here are $40. Do the rebuilt one perform as well? This is my first diesel truck.

Truck shows 344,***. Previous owner rebuilt automatic tranny 200 miles ago and engine was refreshed 60k ago. It runs and drives strong. It is very cold matured. Glow plugs are not working and there is a fuel leak at one injector cap. Starts and runs great after warm up. I think it will be a good truck after these issues are addressed. Seems pretty easy to work on.

Welcome to the forum. Typ4 is a great person to purchase injectors, cams or injection pumps from. He also rebuilds most any turbos too. Russ helps this forum on his spare time so please give him a chance to get back with you. Please read the forum called Hall of Shame here. Thos ebay sellers got listed in there by the horrible way they have treated others in this group and many other idi related groups.

The wall of shame just spared me from buying rebuilt injectors from an ebay listing. The vendor talked like his rebuilds were better than new. I did buy new Motorcraft glow plugs.

Great forum. Very helpfull.

Typ4 sells stanadyne injectors. Far superior than delphis now days. I would go through him if you are in need of a set.

Thanks Hydro, Stanadynes are so expensive now that I wont get them anymore unless someone wants them. My cost now is more than I sold them for. Dumb.
But I do remans when tips are available.

You can get new stanadyne injectors from eBay. We've bought two sets and only had one bad one out of the batch.

You said the motor was refreshed. I would think if it was refreshed pump and injectors would have been part of that. If not how old are the injectors and the pump? Are you sure it’s the glow plugs and not the controller?
Read all the tech articles at the beginning of the forum before throwing parts at it that you may not need.

It's been so cold here I haven't tested the glow plugs yet. The wait to start light is not staying on but 3 seconds or so and then it clicks. My first stop will be the glow plugs.

The truck runs very strong once it's started. I feel like the injectors and pump are fine. I'm learning and this forum is a great help.

From what I've read one of the things that makes a big difference when dealing with someone like typ4 is the injectors will be a matched set that all fire at approximately the same PSI which will give you more reliable timing.

When you get new injectors from eBay or a parts store they are not likely to be matched and you're timing could be all over the place.

Plus, guys like typ4 have a reputation of standing behind their stuff. Good luck with that on eBay!

Typ4 and R&D idi performance put new tips in their injectors. I really like them. Quality of the new tips is plenty good; I haven't had issues.
