You can definitely do the IP, injectors and return caps with it in place. You will probably remove a couple of the injector lines entirely to get access, though.Copy that on removing glow plugs with the turbo in. However, my intent is to do IP, injectors, and return lines at the same time. Additionally, I am strongly considering the R&D billeted return system to get away from those troublesome caps and hoses. Not sure I can do all that with the turbo in place.
Also, I too don't see any problem with the plastic return caps - as long as you use high temp grease for the O-rings and inside the caps(I just use wheel bearing grease), they don't leak(If you use Vasoline, they /will/ leak).
(Note: To prove my point, I get the absolute cheapest return kits on Ebay... and have had good success with them).
